We got 16.5k for last year's home opener, with the caveat it was the first home game after winning the cup. But this time we have a championship flag to unfurl and a first premiership game for a couple of years added with a general feelgood factor around some of this years transfer business (which might get better soon!) and general direction under Neil Lennon.

There's still *a lot* of green dots around both flanks of east and west stands but we've still got a week to go and walk ups to take into account. Also the south is currently entirely unavailable so.... I'm going to go 17.5k.

I think the gate will be in the region of 17k, no mean feat, there are usually a few people away for August games.

Best played in the game which probably drew the only Hibs v Partick game that ever drew more than 20.000 fans. I think the guy would made that comment was fishing for a response so they could do one of those whoosh comments

2 tickets purchased for West Lower as there is limited availability for 2 together anywhere in the stadium other than the ends or section 2 in the west (I prefer to be down the FF side as we attack there 2nd half)

Really looking forward to it and hopefully we can sell out the 3 home ends

Given the available tickets in the North, West, and East will be in less desirable viewpoints this season (given all our STs), I can see merit in making the south available earlier than just on the day of the match for walk ups.

I fully appreciate we want the 3 main stands full as possible but people will be more inclined to come to the game if they can purchase better seats.

Just a thought.

I was there - lived just up the road in an area called Bearsden - was at opposite end from where Shades scored - just remember a hoof from the left and it going in at the back post (memory playing tricks ?) - can't recall anything about the other goal - was Edwards banned or not signed at this point - I can't recall either - was only 9 at the time .

going to be pretty slim pickings for any walk ups if the want in any of the usual home stands as it seems to be just the end sections if you want to sit in a group.

As others have mentioned, the south stand with be overspill if needed so wouldn't imagine anyone wanting a match ticket won't get one.

Really looking forward to it, we still have the potential of a new striker announcement this week to boost sales further.

They sold out their initial allocation then got a further 400 which they are expecting to sell. Once they go there will be some walk ups available, taking their possible total to 1900, so looks like they will be close to filling half the south stand [emoji106]

Thistle have a reasonably large support, much bigger than you'd imagine (I lived in Glasgow for a while and met quite a few).

A lot of that support has been 'dormant' for a long time as they've had nothing much to shout about but maybe their good form, and being in the top league, is helping them come out of the woodwork.

Personally I'm all in favour of an alternative for the decent citizens of Glasgow to the ugliness of the other two clubs.

Throw in a decent preseason, an away day in Edinburgh on a Saturday while the festival is on and I'm not surprised they've shifted a fair few. Fair play to them.

Throw in a decent preseason, an away day in Edinburgh on a Saturday while the festival is on and I'm not surprised they've shifted a fair few. Fair play to them.

Plus they get to watch Hibs

Often wonder why we don't target tourists at this time of year. I know when I,m on holiday I try to take in a game where possible. I think Edinburgh's population more or less doubles during the festival so I'm sure we could get a fair few extra. I suppose the difficulty is how you make them aware.

Section 50 (hospitality) holds 641 so with 3800 in away end, should leave 15,980 in the home end. so looks like 15k already sold for home end.

And its only Tuesday afternoon. I can see Partick bringing at least 1,000 with them, a crowd of 18,000 plus is easily achievable if we decide to split the south stand. Hibs have had months to plan for this and it would be very disappointing, not to mention poor planning from the folk looking after the clubs finances, if we didn't ensure that every Hibs fan looking to get into this game is catered for.

We've allocated 1,900 for Thistle so walkups can have half the south stand then. Plus Section 1 and Section 41 are still almost entirely empty. Anybody who really wants to be there on Saturday will be get in. Judging by the thread there's only around 750 tickets left for the home end, we're looking at around 17k at least just now.

I'm predicting 19,231 for SaturdayI'm a last minute Larry as usual. still to get a season ticket (tomorrow!!!!) and I assume that when I buy it, they will give me a seat for Saturday, elsewhere in the ground.

Finally got there by adding both the Hibs site and Ticketmaster to the list of sites on Flash. Strange as I never at any stage disabled them and never was I asked to update them!!!!

Chrome now requires you to do this. Flash is on its deathbed I think and the sooner web developers stop using it the better.

I think at this rate and with our latest signing we would have to fill the corners in to accomodate the tourists

I have great admiration for fans based in Glasgow/West Central area who choose to follow their local team, say Hamilton, Well, etc, rather than the uglies.
