According to the transfermarket website his "current market development" price is £128,000 which I wouldnt have thought will be too far off the mark what Hibs have paid.

A very interesting signing, I cant say I know much about him and although have seen the action from Lithuanias games against England and Scotland I would be telling porkies if I said I remembered him from those matches. Must obviouslt have something about him if Juve picked him up.

Welcome on board Vykintas.

Our last two signings have been proven internationals and both of them a good age as well .... Slivka has been out on loan at a few decent clubs so he certainly has some good experience behind him, I would imagine its neigh on impossible to break into the first team at Juventus, in view of which his ability certainly cant be judged on that.

The only thing bothering me is that every time we get a player from Celtic or who has played for Celtic the Yams accuse us of being 'diet Celtic' .... now we have signed two Lithuanians does that make us 'diet Hearts?' ...... :greengrin

Anyway ...... welcome to the Hibees big man :aok:

Great to get this one done and I'm really looking forward to seeing him and the Lithuania striker play.

We're assembling a really impressive squad, just need Stokes to sign and one more attacking player and we should be set.

With some promising young players in the mix aswell I'm feeling really good about next season.

And the league season hasn't started yet, don't know why there was so much impatience on here lately. We have a strong manager and backed by one of the country's best chief executives

This guy is the real deal. Once we get another striker (Stokes?) we are beginning to build an excellent squad.

Still room for one or two more, you just need to look how congested the fixtures are in some months to see we need a big squad.

Think we need a striker (time we looked elsewhere, as if Stokesy was really keen to play for us again, he'd have accepted our offer by now) and another wide player and that'll be us, unless McGinn was to leave.

Slivka looks to be a really exciting signing. Look forward to his debut, hopefully this Saturday.

Like the vast majority of blowhards on Twitter, he knows that the only people who can state definitively that he's talking pish will just ignore him, if they even know he exists.

I think it will suit Juve fine to have the fee undisclosed.

If they're going to replace Slivka they don't want teams to know how much money they've got to spend.

Other teams might then inflate asking prices.

For me these signing show how Lennon is an experienced high profile manager, with lots of contacts, for the spl imo they are a coup. Good to see this lad signed on a 3 year deal rather than a loan, I couldn't care less if this guys ultimate ambition is to play down south would rather have this type of player than a player for whom playing in the spl is their highest goal

Find Craig Fowler's take on Slivka quite hilarious, snippet here:

"While he lacks pace and strength, he’s still an athletic and dynamic player, capable of getting forward quickly and breaking past the strikers or running into the channels to offer another option in attack.
"

We have a player who lacks pace and strength but don't worry he is athletic and can get forward quickly.

What's next Deivydas lacks height but is good in the air at 6 ft 3?

Exactly. It's only a good thing if we sell a player down south to a club that can pay a lot more and maybe in the top league down there, it shows that the player has done well for us.

Actually most Juve fans do not know him as he never got near the first team. They tend to sign loads of players and farm them out hoping to make some cash on them because of the clubs reputation.
I am more warmed by the fact that he plays quite regular at international level and I thought craig fowlers piece was funny......well researched.....Wait and see the 2 lithuanians are out of the box signings
which makes it interesting. They have been watched for a year so its not done of 5 minutes of " you tube "....could be a fun season.........
