Microsoft announcing the end of Paint. Barstewards!!!
Are these people sadists? Really, I sometimes wonder.
I use paint A LOT and I'm going to be lost without it.

:grr:

I used to avoid it as I thought it was a pretty useless. However in recent years the old print screen -> paste in paint -> crop -> save has saved me so much time when I'm doing work or saving images for reports, particularly if the images are in pdf's that don't allow it to be saved.

There is a newer 'Snipping Tool' that allows you to only capture the section of screen you want. you can save it and insert wherever you want.

I mostly using snipping tool too. Although, paint was good for a very quick and amateur "photoshop" of something.

Yup. But still Paint is exactly the same age as me.

Are Microsoft planning on bopping me on the heid as I'm now "obselete"??

*******s!!!

But the snipping tool has removed any reason one would ACTUALLY have to use Paint in a work context IMO

It's absolute rubbish. Far better freeware paint programs out there.

I would recommend using Paint.NET - https://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html

I know. I have Paint Shop Pro however for simple tasks - without all the bells/whistles/layers etc - Paint is easier to use for the basic stuff mainly because I'm familiar with it.
That just applies to me of course. I'm useless with all this modern technology stuff.
I'll give your Paint.NET a bash though. Thanks, HOH.

A good free simple to use program is Pinta, which is handy as it's available for linux, windows and mac so if you work with different platforms it's quite handy. Not got all the bells and whistles as it's aimed mainly at casual users.

Depends how good you are at using them, a bit too much going on for me in my rank amateur status.
