Excellent, wasn't aware this game was on TV.

No clue how this league-cup works... Must we win the group to proceed? i.e. loss tonight, and it's all over?

All the top teams go through from the 8 groups, along with the 4 best 2nd placed teams IIRC

I looked it up yesterday - all 8 group winners and 4 best runners up join the 4 teams who were in Europe in the last 16.

No idea how best runners up are calculated.

Can't see us or County losing so a win tonight should see us looking good or a draw brings goal difference into play.

Ok cheers.

And the winner is on goal difference, or head to head? Though, if we draw tonight then logically it's going to go to goal difference anyway with us and County.

There's a penalty shoot out if it's a draw to earn a bonus point.

If it's a draw there is a pen shout out for a bonus point in the group.

A draw means a penalty shoot-out for an extra point.

If it's a draw it goes straight to penalties and the winner gets an extra point. So one team would get 2 points and one team would get 1 point.

I'm not sure how they decide who are the 4 best runners up. Is it just on points accumulated? Do they disregard the scores vs the bottom seeded team like they do in international football?

My undesrstanding its simply the runners up with the most points and then GD.

Head to head couldnt work against teams from other groups as there would be no head to head.

If a team is level on points they take the average shoe size of the teams and the biggest qualify.....

Lucky we're in a fairly straight forward group. Groups like the st Mirren and Partick group is likely to be harder to get one of the best runner up places from.
