Has anybody looked at the comments section of the Evening News & The Scotsman for any football related articles in the last few days?

Almost every comment seems to dissapear within a matter of minutes, with a note saying 'this comment is under review'.

It's all story's. Someone's waged war with them and reporting the comments on everything

Quite funny though. Angry people getting angrier as they can't post their angry comments.

They should just do away with the comments. The vast majority are childish pish - and not just on the sport section.

Football part is flooded with weird yam types that even kickback won't take.

Either that or it's allisbarrys multiple personalities having a go at each other and Hibs.

Best avoided.

It is/was funny. The weirdos with multiple names arguing/agreeing with themselves, the jambo loners who post on every Hibs story telling a skewed version of our history, the total weirdos who imagine every Hibs fan was emailing the Lithuanian Govt during the time they owed it £32mil and some geezers on both sides caught up in the rubbish. The weirdest is Talk of the Toun who thinks longwinded posts with clumsy digs at Hibs in every sentence makes him valid. A complete waste of bandwidth even scrolling down to them for quite a while now. Dunno what that new situation is about but no doubt JP enjoy the clicks.

Dunno mate, I looked for the first time in ages the other day and as described above every post bar one was "under consideration". The only post up was someone slating Stokes personal life in a way that was well beyond what normal people would do. I expect that disappeared too.

Why would you post a comment there anyway??. It's always been, on sports stories anyway, purely the reserve of the mentally unstable and deluded on there.

Agree with that - has been the haunt of the 'Ultra-obsessed about Hibs' Jambo for some time now !

And as has been mentioned - ROLAND - now that was a 'Grade A Plum' !.

Edinburgh Evening News.

Edinburgh - nope, printed and published in the West.
Evening - comes out first thing in the morning.
News - debatable, bar their "features" everything is out there on social media long before it's inked. It's "unique" copy is filched from elsewhere or consists of the most cringeworthy columnist opinion pieces aimed at members of knee-jerkers anonymous.

As Johnny Rotten said about the NME "It's not new, not very musical and not particularly express."

That media is going the way of papyrus.

Apart from that I stopped buying it due to it's obvious bias against our club and the sucking up to Hearts. Before the "paranoia" claims begin I'll point out that this site stopped linking the EEN Hibs stories in the News forum for very good reason.

I even used to get it posted to me down here but its barely disguised pro Hearts agenda (particularly around their administration and subsequent attempt at rebranding) lost them 4 regular paper orders in Edinburgh and my copy went with it. Not really the best way to find out what's happening in the real world up there now anyway.

The EEN and Hootsmon did have some great reporters/writers back in the day.
I worked in The Scotsman on leaving school (mid 60s) and met greats like Stewart Brown and John Ayres who were the EENs main football writers/reporters for many years.
Stewart was a good Hibernian, too.John leaned towards the dark side of the city.
Both these men worked hard for their stories.
Pre internet of course and they had to get off their bums to get the scoops/stories of the day.
Stewart was held in high regard among sports writers and at ER.
Its said that he sometimes recommended players he watched to the club.
A kind of freelance scout. He also travelled with the team during those great European adventures.
I always looked forward to his reports/stories,particularly in the Pink news on a Saturday (if we won)

When I used to go onto the EEN-forums, there was one who was a particuarly touchy, Jambo welt - 'Baldric' - got me banned because I addressed him as 'Baldpric' !

It's been like that for a long time but has sunk to a new low of tedious childish yam drivel. In their own wee world where Cathro is a bone fide football coach they think they are hilarious. They must lead such fantastic lives posting endless nonsense in sites which aren't even about their team. Obsessional, delusional, lunatic, behaviour. I'm sure they would keep shrinks in jobs for years.

Bang in the money re-the old days, Mick. That's when those papers had journalists rather than "reporters".

Clicks, means they can charge for advertising, the more clicks the more they can charge. They don't give two hoots about the quality of the contents or who posts.
