Hi there,

Massive thank you to those that took the time to come along yesterday to speak with Frank and myself.

Majority of what was raised are issues that we have been discussing on the forums but here is a summary of what was discussed

- Signings - just to reassure again that the recruitment team and the manager are working really hard in the background to bring in the managers targets. Targets always remain confidential and we know with the many rumours it is becoming frustrating for supporters. As a club we have always tried to go about our business discreetly and will continue to do so.

- Ibrox away - 12th August - Frank and myself will be meeting with the Club's Security officer, Police and Rangers to discuss parking and security for the game. Both Frank and myself will be in the Away end for the match. All information relating to this match will be relayed to supporters as soon as we have it.

- HMRC Tax case - due to the amount of supporters who have raised this on the many different forums we will be taking this to the board meeting on 31st July. There is no stalling on this it's just that's when the next board meeting.

- Mark Warburton's comments re Cummings transfer - both clubs agreed the amount would be undisclosed. We can't obviously reveal amounts and surprised by Mark Warburton's comments.

- Vale of Leithen Development game - we were asked if any compensation has been offered to Vale of Leithen for our late cancellation of the match. It was addressed that clubs like Vale of Leithen would have been greatly out of pocket from the match being postponed. - this is something Frank and myself will look into

Other issues raised outwith the session:

- pricing for Betfred fixtures - will relay info once I have it

FYI - Alloa Away is £16 per adult, £8 over 65 and £4 under 16

All pricing is different. There is a minimum price you can charge but will look into further

- interactive seating map - some have been having issues with this

Most likely using Chrome if on a desktop machine and that has recently disabled flash from being supported which has caused issues, Alternative browers are recommended such as firefox and making sure flash is installed.

Devices such as tablets and phones generally have issues with flash so they also aren’t supported for the ISM.

As always if anyone has anything they wish to bring to us we are contactable via email or on the forums.

Definitely keen to hear what's happening with parking at Ibrox. I was going to email the ticket office to find out what was happening but it sounds like this is being dealt with by yourselves. Do you recommend that I just wait to hear from you on here regarding this issue?

I only intend to go if there's suitable parking arrangements in place so an answer ahead of the tickets going on sale would be great. I would expect the tickets to go on sale within the next couple of weeks, do you expect to hear anything within that timescale?

Thanks for that summary Tracey. Good to see the commitments given during the election period to improve communications are happening. Much appreciated.

That's great that you and Frank are gonna be with us in awAy end at Ibrox. Be good if other directors could do that too - let the Ibrox establishment realise they are under scrutiny. Might just make them (and the police through there) do more to ensure away supporters are treated decently. As has been pointed out before - this is 2017 not 1720 so to watch a game without getting missiles and pee thrown at you would be a start!

Think Tracey got hit by a coin at the last game at Ibrox. She knows all about that place! I think it would be good to see a non fans rep in the Hibernian end.

Cant believe Behind the Goals wasn't raised ............ still no concrete news of what Hibs plans are regarding a replacement apart from a vague suggestion that we want to do something. On a positive note I have grown quite fond of the liberal use of green paint on the outside of the FF :greengrin

On that note, much as I hate to use the Jambos as any kind of benchmark, I notice they have plans for a giant mural on a gable end outside their new stand .... at every home game I gaze longingly at the huge gable end over the road at the back of the FF .... its just crying out for a Hibs related paint job ..... any chance the club could arrange something?

Agreed, complete pain in the arse it's closed.

My boy loved going there before the game and added to the day out. He's not the sort of 4 year old that'll just sit In a pub so I've now to decide whether to take him to games but not get a pint before the game (big part of my enjoyment of the day, sorry if that makes me a bas person) or not take him to the game. I know that probably seems quite a trivial issue to most but the practicalities of it are a real issue for me and I doubt I'm the only one.

That's not to mention all the old guys that went that obviously appreciated having somewhere to go they could get a seat and catch up with other older guys.

Hibs have got most things right recently but this is one they've got wrong imo.

Extremely wrong.

I understand there's a financial aspect to it all but I would be very interested to know how well used the NHS facilities have been so far. For me, the club's top priority is the supporters. It was a good meeting point for many people before home matches and its closure has been a mistake in my opinion. To not have an alternative option in place is wrong.

Whoa there.......you're making a judgement (I'm not that happy with) without knowing all the facts.

I love my boy to bits and do everything with him almost every spare minute I have, He's not the sort of kid that sits still for the length of a you tube clip never mind a football match or a film at the cinema for example. I don't go out at the weekend any more, I don't play golf, I don't go for weekends away with the boys any more, The only time away from work I don't spend time with him is when I'm at the Hibs games, in order to rectify that I'm trying to get him into going to hibs games, probably before he's ready. In order to do so I need to make it into a 'fun day out' and he loved going to the BTG bar, mixing with other kids and playing with the games that were there.

If now and again I want to go to the game, enjoy a beer before hand without the struggles that goes with taking a hyper 4 year old that doesn't make me a bad person or less of a dad, despite the joke in my previous post.

The situation I've described isn't a unique scenario which is why I think the club should have thought of an alternative before closing the BTG bar. Going to the football isn't about the 90 minutes at the match, it's the whole match day experience and BTG helped with that, especially to parents looking to introduces their kids to football.

Sorry Bingo you did imply in the previous post you were considering it. I obviously don't know your circumstances but it's not something I would even consider if I'd already started taking my kid.

For clarity, when he's going every week, sitting at games and actually knows what's going on I wouldn't bin him for the pub but when introducing him to the day out BTG was an extremely useful facility.

I appreciate that level of detail wasn't in my original post however i still feel you were a bit quick to make a judgement that because a dad likes a pint before the game that makes them wrong.

I hope it is well used to make the closure of BTG worthwhile although I have my doubts.

When my daughter was 4 she wasn't bothered about going to the games. I used to take her and go for a beer before the game with her coming with me. Occasionally if I was going to have more than a few drinks I didn't take her to the game. It's not for others to judge what's acceptable. It's a different situation when a child is older and they're looking forward to going and you say they can't come as you're going for a pint first.

Feel like I should be on commission for plugging the place constantly but have you tried taking him in to the safari lounge? It's pretty good for kids as it's relaxed usually fairly quiet. They've got a box of toys and games in the back room that used to come in handy when my boy was too young to realise he's expected to sit down and shut up while his old man necks a few pints.

(That's a joke btw to anyone concerned about my sons welfare :greengrin )

Brilliant, cheers. I like that pub but had no clue it was kid friendly so could be a great solution.

Wonder if the games are good enough if I might get away with leaving him in there and collecting him after the game?

(I suppose I better clarify that was a joke before social services get involved)

Why bother going all the way back there after the game? Just tell him you'll meet him at the back of the West stand about 10 to 5.

No it's a child friendly pub that does good food. Was in there for one with my son before the game yesterday. Do that every time we're back and I've been taking him in there since it changed hands and was refurbished about 4 years ago when we still lived nearby. Cracking boozer imo :aok:

I think the disappointing aspect for those that made use of BTG was the lack of consultation and consideration of an alternative option. I think Hibs tbf have acknowledged that previously but the lack of alternative even now is still disappointing for those who felt it was a useful option close to their seats in the stadium.

Yeah, hibs club an option but learned yesterday they are going to stop visitors paying £1 entry, I'm reluctant to hand over£30 for membership tbh but for that's going to be the best option then I might have to just suck it up.

Anyway, we're digressing a bit here, can one of the fans reps please just arrange for a marquee to go up in the corner between the east and famous five stands? Few games in the corner for kids, seats for the old and lazy and a bottle bar would suit me fine. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

Thanks

The idea of a child friendly place before games does make sense.

Does the community foundation not do anything ?

Something like an area for kids to play with other Hibs kids in a safe environment while parents socialised etc.

Other updates would be nice to hear..

PA system ? Stuck another season with same rubbish?

Stadium improvements..like the new green outside paint - maybe an idea to add it inside the stadium between the tiers ?

Front of the east stand - is there a reason why the grass is so unkept ?

Food - any improvements on quality / price / service this season. Haven't seen much so far.

Any feedback would be great - thanks

I think the point of having reps is so they can take issues raised by fans to formal meetings of the board . It's not really about the reps making up there own issues.

These surgeries give supporters the chance to raise issues face to face with our elected reps and also the reps can then give feedback.

I take your point though that there will be occasions where new initiatives from the board could be initially raised at surgeries. For example, if the board decided to re-introduce a points system for tickets?

Honestly they are at least trying to communicate (and are) with a wider audience and folk are still whining.

Hi Tracey,
Thanks for posting.
Can I ask a couple of questions about the tax case?
As the board meeting is not until the 31st, do the club know that there will be no decision from the SPFL before then?
When was the last board meeting and how often are they?
When will the club be letting the fans know their position on this?
Cheers

Thank you, Tracey, it's really great having the fans voices heard at boardroom level and keeping us updated with the goings on.

In regards to transfer activity, nobody for one minute believes there is nothing going on behind the scenes but it's still reassuring to know that theres a lot of work going on. A bit frustrating with all the rumours kicking about but hibs have always gone about transfer business in a desecrate manner and quite rightly so. I have a great deal of faith in Leeann, Lennon and the rest of the staff working behind the scenes. I'm happy with the business we've done so far with the signing of Whittaker, Murray and Swanson and getting Ambrose on a permanent deal, we now have a very strong defence and given ourselves plenty options in that department. A couple of strikers in now and I think that should just about do it.

In regards to Warburtons comments, utter bollocks. There is no danger Leeann would have been mugged off on this one and let him away for less than £1m. Fannys hat can do one :na na:

The ibrox situation is a big issue and i'm really glad this has been brought up at boardroom level. The treatment of away supporters at that vile place is absolutely disgraceful. Its kind of difficult to know what to do about it though. Yes, the police and stewards are absolute cowards at ibrox and let the huns away with murder but this isn't just a couple of idiot fans that you can easily just chuck out, theres loads of them. Being able to watch a game of football and support my team at ibrox without being pelted with coins, spat at etc would be quite nice, we live in hope!

Hi,

We will be taking to the board regardless because supporters have asked us to. We take the bigger issues to the board and this is something which so many supporters are unhappy with.

Boards meetings are every month

We will update you following the board along with our update which will be out that week

Hope that helps

Thanks

Hi,

I was surprised myself that BTG didn't get raised but it was only an hour that we had. It is something that gets raised weekly.

We are close to a temporary solution and as soon as that is all confirmed we will let you know. This isn't something that's been ignored and has had a lot of effort put in to find a suitable solution for the start of the season. The Club know how much this means to supporters

We will keep you posted.

Cheers

Thanks for the update. Hopefully something suitable can be found as the BTG facility was very much part of the much vaunted "match day experience" for many fans.
I was very surprised at its demise and even more surprised that STF allowed this decision to be made.

When does the contract run until with the current caterer? The food is rank and worse than last season (sure there's been a price hike too!).

Not 100% but believe it has a while still to run.

Thanks Tracey ...... Good to hear the club is still working on a solution, as I've said on many posts on the subject I don't think the importance of a 'fans bar' can be understated, IMO it played a huge part in making fans feel part of the club and that they were welcome through the doors in a social sense and not just as paying punters. In view of that I think a bar is worth having even if it only breaks even rather than turns a profit.

Never mind that .... when are they going to train the staff on the difference between a steak pie and a mince pie, my first steak pie of the season at the Sunderland game turned out to be a mince pie when I started eating it .... something that happens fairly frequently during the season

On a more positive note I was served by a very cheery girl in the FF upper at the Montrose game ..... it makes it a lot easier to part with a fiver for two items that would cost £2.50 anywhere outside a football stadium when you get service with a smile :greengrin

Some posters have suggested setting up temporary facilities in the space between FF and the East. I didn't realise there was so much ground there until I saw this image. Looks like there's loads of room for a decent temp bar

I think it's used as a car park.

And it's got quite a slope on it too. Can't see it being suitable for crowds to gather without some groundworks being done.

I think you're right although I've never seen a car go in - maybe they have to be in early doors before the road is shut?

There's loads of 'pop up' temp bars during the Festival at the likes of the Pleasance, Meadows, Bristow Square etc plus all music festivals nowadays have decent basic bars. I prefer the Harp and Castle myself but was just surprised the amount of ground available so it made me think the guys suggesting a temporary child friendly watering hole could be sited there had a point.

Tracey has said options are getting looked at so hopefully we'll find out very soon what these options are.

The seagulls are there every single year, why it has to be raised again is beyond me. The Operations Manager for the Stadium should have a plan of action for this every season.

Yep Hibs club is going members only

Is this due to BTG closing or because of the incident that took place in supporters club last year.

Gulls are a problem we may just have to cope with. Given they have no avian predators (hawks and eagles don't go near gulls in general, there are few eagles as big as herring gulls) there is no real deterrent to them being in the stadium. We could put anti-nesting stuff on the stands, but this would be too expensive. The removal of all food stuff from the stadium, while probably being healthier for our support, doesn't tie in with a good match day experience. All species of gull are protected here in the UK so the club really can't take any action that would harm the birds or their nests. One thing that is possible is leading them away from the stadium with food, but this would mean employing people to do this and it is not guaranteed to work either.

I don't mind them myself but I can see why people are worried, they are big birds and they are aggressive if they think their chicks are at risk. This is a problem there maybe no good solution to.

And on Hibs tv when we experience one of the 'fuzzy'days, they look as big as pterocadtyls!!

Cleaning the stands between matches might help. At the Sunderland game, a dad and son behind us took one bite of a pizza and chucked it under their seat. They didn't reappear in the second half and the pizza attracted the gulls. Somebody picked the pizza up and moved the pizza to stop the gulls bothering everybody. The pizza was still there at the Montrose game.

There's no excuse for that to be honest.

Someone just not doing their job.

If Hibs asked for volunteers to do a 'deep clean' and some odd jobs once a quarter they would get loads of offers. It's been done before with painting steps and a few people who post on here helped.

I know that doesn't excuse general cleaning not being carried out between games but if Hibs compiled a list of jobs needing done and asked for help they would get it. ER does look a bit tired at the moment and it wouldn't take a lot of work to improve it. I, for one, would be happy to help.

Wouldnt have hurt the dad to bin the pizza properly in the first place either.

That's someone not doing their job, stands should be cleaned after every game. This is a huge problem as one of the main attractions to gulls is free food they are left by us humans. My mate is a coal merchant and used to feed gulls at his yard, they would then follow his coal lorry on his rounds, you knew he was coming from miles away from the flock of gulls following him :greengrin

Absolutely agree with that but once that didn't happen, it shouldn't still be there 6 days later.

I think that's inexcusable.
