WOW really? That is fantastic. To be fair we have 12000 St and we don't have a full squad yet. Once commons and stokes are over the line we might get another couple of thousand in!

Good news, nice to see we finally broke the 12k barrier.

I think we'll shift quite a bit more as the first league game gets nearer.

I hope not.) What will happen to the likes of me who rely on walk-ups? :)

If it's 12,000 how many does that leave for walk ups in the home stands?

Great. Now everyone attending has to buy at least 2 pies to catch up with Aberdeen.

Amazing. Hopefully we have an exciting season and we can get all these folk back next year, and more.

Over to you, Hibs.

We now have more ST holders than A'deen will have for total home attendances most games this coming season. (Yes it was a bit of a Jamboesque post, but I couldn't resist.)

Yet they will still be able to offer more wages and spend money on players so it doesn't really matter

Only leaves around 2.5k in home stands when you exclude hospitality. Great effort.

Thought we had about 16.5k home seats ? Surely 2.5 doesn't go to hospitality?

Was an estimate.

20421

-4000 for South

16421

-12000 sold

4421

Assumied around 1921 hospitality - probably closer to 1500?

Either way, a cracking effort and limited tickets in home end.

We're reaching the tipping point...

You're roughly 700 over with your numbers for the West.

I thought that too😄
We reduced it in 2010 when we built the East

Great effort by the fans !

Still some people to buy plus another 200 hopefully from kicks from kids.

Hopefully get over 12,500 by the start of Patrick.

I've no doubt whatsoever that the South will be in regular use by Hibs fans bar the derbies and (there is no) Old Firm. Hopefully by the following season we can then limit the away allocation permanently and sell ST's in the South.

If we sell 2000 more it might be time to fill in some corners.
Still think the corner from FF to East should become the new standing/singing section .

I agree, would be the ideal area.

There is literally zero chance of getting planning permission.

We've sold Easter road out three times, bit ott to be talking about expanding it already.

An ideal sceanario but think we are few years away from that yet,if at all.

Big well done to all involved.hopefully I will still be able to get the odd ticket 😉

Talking of filling in corners, we as a club don't need it but it would be great for Scottish football if it happened. Scotland could play more smaller games there and we could hold finals if 2 smaller teams get to the final. Not to mention more semi finals.

How many seats would we have with 4 filled in corners?

I agree we don't need to expand ER .... though filling in the FF / East corner would probably only add about 1000 seats which isn't exactly overkill, Stoke City have exactly that configuration of stands at the Britannia stadium and its noted for its atmosphere even though its far from the biggest ground in the EPL.

I wouldn't agree that planning permission would be 'impossible' .... if the addition curved round it would block far less light to the flats than filling the gap with a building of equal height to the FF and East which took up the whole site would .... yes we would no doubt get objections, but the loss of light would have to be significant before refusal of permission would be inevitable IMO ... if loss of light in any form was a factor in planning permission nothing would ever get built in any urban area.

I am conscious that we have a council who will go to any length to help our neighbours and go to the same effort to ensure that Hibs would struggle to get planning permission for a window box.

Stoke City have this summer filled in another corner.
As for us, filling in the north east corner with safe standing would raise capacity by 1,600 to 22,000.
It would be a real focal point for section 43 minded fans and in the space below it we could have a new/bigger club shop, a museum or a fans bar/social club type thing or all of the above as its a massive space.

LancashireHibby

Not sure if anyone has the comparative dimensions but I was under the impression that the corner being expanded at Stoke was a much larger space than any of the corners at ER.

Pie in the sky mate. The last thing we need is to spend more money on building.

fill the corners in i say

Sorry but where are we getting the money to fill in the corners? FFS there's a thread on here complaining about HSL trying to raise money for players. Let's concentrate on getting a winning team on the park and paying off the £4m we are due STF in our interest free loan.

I'm all for filling in a corner or two as long as so much of the East is allocated standing and we are allowed to start a sway at the top ( without barriers ) every time we score.

The young uns probably haven't experienced a proper sway like we used to get
