Reports saying there was something iffy about the guy who scored against Sevco last night. To be fair most of the Sevco fans are saying they shouldn't accept reinstation but it's not for them to decide.

Club said it was asthma medication - was known before the 1st leg

That would be a bit rich coming from a club that shouldn't have been allowed to play in europe in the first place.

Don't know the context of this, but if one player fails a drugs test the club doesn't get booted out. Pretty sure a club faced Arsenal a couple years back, but faced no real punishment for a player failing a test.

It would be an ironic one if they point to following the rules.

Making the case for retrospective punishment after cheating comes to light? :hmmm:

Apparently his hearing is in September and the Luxembourg authorities have allowed him to continue playing until then. Even if he's eventually found guilty the punishment could well be nominal as the banned substance was in asthma medication given to him by the club's doctor.

Hopefully common sense will prevail, big difference between PHDs and some poor sod needing his asthma meds. My nephew uses an inhaler, and the ref is required to pause play when it's needed during his under 15 games.

Does the club doctor have his PHD? He should know which banned substances are in the meds he's giving out!
