That's no' right; keep them the hell away from beautiful Stobhill (possibly only when compared to Tinycastle admittedly).

I am well aware of the history but the poster was saying the mosaic on the High Street should be the first and only club badge. It was never ours.

"I think the poster has now corrected you.

The point I was making is that our name and badge are woven into the historical fabric of Edinburgh - we ARE the team of Auld Reekie.

Our famous badge is based on that historic landmark on the Royal Mile, and although our unique Club name came from a dance hall, it is shared by the above landmark and with a renowned novel by the incomparable Sir Walter Scott "Heart of Midlothian".

Makes me proud".

It would be interesting on the hibs fans approach should they be playing the Christmas/New Year Derby at Murrayfield, which I suspect has a high probability. Would we take 10,000-15,000 to try create an awesome atmosphere but also generate a decent amount of cash or would we boycott it to stop them cashing in on the farcical situation they have created.

Once its badged up and has the stadium name chucked on it will be perfectly acceptable and much better than the vast majority of Scotland's clubs have ... what it wont be is 'bonny' and to be fair I think even the vast majority of Yams are beginning to accept that.

Just had a wee laugh ...... Talk Sport is discussing Scottish football and a guy from Sheffield has just been on and said ..... "nobody cares about HIbs and whoever their derby rivals are" .... ignorant git, but it was still funny that he didn't know who Hearts are :greengrin

Seems they are now proclaiming that they now have a plaza. No one else has a plaza. They are the big famous team coz they've got a plaza. I wonder if this is the new comfort blanket now that the reality has set in that this new stand is not what was ordered - ie the biggest bestest stand ever.

They presumably can't complete the lower steelwork as that would mean any machines used to complete the decking and the roof would have to run on to the pitch. I suspect that it will still be a quagmire by the time the thing is finished.

So once steel frame is complete they will have to finish the decking and roof from behind (or down the side) of the stadium?

Reality is hitting them that after all the money spent their crowds still won't be break 20,000 any time soon for a home game.

Regarding the unfinished work of the stand - none of them really know what the plan is...

Seats fitted first for upper sections or lower sections installed and then seats fitted...but gap of unfinished work next to police box.

Next few weeks will be interesting to see what they do - hopefully seats delayed even further :greengrin

It has to be The Wernham Hogg Arena.

My source on site tells me that further delays are expected as they are having problems with the badly produced, cheap flimsy metal panels that the seats are to be fixed to.

There are gaps between the panels and they aren't joining to one another as expected. I said I had seen a picture, posted on this thread, of the poor joins but he said that was the tip of the iceberg, some of the gaps are huge.

He showed me pictures from his phone that would have the site shut down if the health and safety inspectors were to see what is going on behind the glass curtain. Corners are being cut all over the site and some really dodgy work is being carried out.

Again, I can't be too specific as my mate could lose his job if his identity was revealed but the info he gave me has left me in no doubt that this job is going to experience further delays.

Severe delays that will lead to another announcement.

Prepare for Murrayfield.

Not surprised the metal staging for seats isn't fitting well - there was a recent picture on here showing gaps.

They seem to be accepting that their glass frontage does in fact look a bit mundane, so they're now speaking about replacing the glass when they've got some money to turn it into a giant video screen.

So they're now getting all excited about their big monobloc crest. They seem to be doing a very good job of it but some of the over reaction is hilarious, eg. "This has been designed to look symmetrical from eye level.. Not top down.. Incredible attention to detail.. Can't help but applaud it. " - erm, it's centred in a square surround - incredible?

They're also worried that the hobos will start spitting on it - I reckon sPit will be the least of their problems.

The reason the populace of Edinburgh spits on the High Street heart is because it was where the most hated building in the city stood, the Heart of Midlothian was a nickname for the debtors prison - which seems apt.

Its basically a monoblock driveway with a design.

So this has turned into:

"Sorry mate, we've made an ar5e of your house extension. We thought you wanted something ugly and functional. Can we make it up to you with a bit of monoblock instead?"

I think having the crest as part of their entrance is quite a neat idea.

However whats more important - in a normal world - is having a stand that can be inhabited, even if by mutants.

Someone (edit, it was you !!!) just up thread posted a pic of the East 5 weeks from completion, it actually looks ready to sit in.

I wonder when the announcement of alternative arrangements will be made by Budge?

Wait til they have another win or two under their belt and the radges across the road will swallow whatever she says?

Keep it simple, "The Office".

If Murrayfield's on the cards for the derby, they'll limit our allocation to the Roseburn equivalent or, if greedy, to the same allocation as the zombies.

No danger they'll open it up to as many as we want, regardless of the windfall they'd get - imagine getting the chance to outnumber them at their own home game, it'd be an invasion from us and they'd never live that down...

If you are spending £12-14 Million you would except them to get something right :faf:

The wonky badge at the front is better than the stand and that's saying something - hence why they are getting excited over it.

The hilarious part is they are now loving the paving stones when focus should really be on 44 days till the stand is ready and still no seats :faf: to be seen.

They have once again LIED their way through this.

At the end of the day this new one tier small capacity restricted view mega stand will be inferior to ours and at a cost of 15 million and rising will put them into major debt again.

Heh-heh, mule.

Lyle Lanley:
The name's Lanley, Lyle Lanley. And I come before you good people tonight with an idea. Probably the greatest—Aw, it's not for you. It's more a Hibernian idea.

Medals MacKay:
Now, wait just a minute. We're twice as smart as those Hobo's. Just tell us your idea and we'll vote for it.

Lyle Lanley:
All right. I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll show you my idea. I give you the Tynecastle Monoblock!
(everyone gasps)
I've sold monoblock to Bromley, AFC Flyde and Biggleswade Town, and, by gum, it put them on the map...

etc etc etc

Drs Budge designed it this way. She knows lots of things, not just how to fleece simple fans. One of those things is that light bends round very massive objects. She just has to make sure that on matchdays the control box is full of very fat polises and hey presto, fans in those seats can see the goals!

It's a pretty tiresome debate this one, bringing to mind the thread about their previous demise. However. It is clear to me that they have sold many more advance seats than they actually have available and are therefore guilty of just about everything including construction of eyesores visible from the moon.

Seriously though - how can they take money up front for a seat that doesn't exist without offering a refund? Supposing you want the seat you were sold, not the one at the nearest Rugby ground? They've oversold, right? Can't wait for the forthcoming rugby tests.

Here's what's really happening.

They're working feverishly at Tynecastle but keeping it all secret ready for a tremendous reveal on 5/11

They'de finished the steel work - all along the front and the section on the LHS of the pics which had to be left til last to allow heavy plant in (rumoured to be a palm tree).

The crane couldn't be used for the last of the decking but two men and a wheelbarrow have acheived wonders and it is now finished, complete with required "Mind the Gap" notices.

They're currently most of the way through glueing the seats in place (the decking didn't come with seat fixings unfortuneately).

They're not going to have steps - instead they wil be offerring fans fitness classes to allow them to take the big giant steps needed to go up.

The police control box is to be left in place but a 50" TV screen will be installed behind it showing Eurosport !.

All this is not ideal, the club admits, but it will be the premier Edinburgh sports stadium for the foreseeable future after all.

The only thing that's stopping them completing it is that they haven't finished it.

Engineering equivalent of yamenomics.

Having not completed it on time takes away any fear of not being able to complete it on time.

As am I. We'll bring as many fans as them and it'll wipe out home advantage entirely.

Couldn't care less about them making a bit more cash off the back of it - beating them is more important.

I would love to see us play in a full house at Murrayfield, it would be an awesome experience and everyone would have a decent chance to getting a ticket.

Typical Hobo over-confidence.

Ive got my supply of Tena pads pre-ordered. I'm not sure my constitution is strong enough to deal with a glass curtain on the scale they've promised.

Sensible precautions.

It is the wee stadium after all - it may cause unintended pished pants by all who see it.

I hope Hibs are watching this closely.

They can't surely go back to Tynecastle in November and then back to Murrayfield in December and January (when SRU don't need it).

Any more front loaded away games will result in them being at home for most for the last 4 months of the season every Saturday. I assume for our home games we get Saturday preference and they get Sunday.

They are at it. They will always be cheats.

Another classic....

"Personally I think it hinges on the delivery date for the seats . As soon as they're on site I will be comfortable that we will be good to go" :faf:

The seats are meant to arrive this Thursday - squeaky bum time if they don't :greengrin
Squeaky bum time if they do because of the inferior quality plastic used.

Spot-on - keep the run up against them and any extra money they make will be wiped out by the plummet in their attendances for the remainder of the season !
