I see Lee McCulloch has been appointed permanent manager at Kilmarnock. Might give them a bit more stability next season.

Interesting snippet that they only averaged 3,000 fans a game at home last season. That's really poor. Can they turn it around?

All the stats I have seen have their average as 5,000 fans for home games, which is still crap given they have 18,000 seats

Sadly their geographical position means that the locals will always be tempted towards Ibrox and Parkhead every other week.

Decent club, awful pitch and no comment about McCulloch.

If it is actually 5000 then I'd suggest that's not actually too bad to be totally honest.

That's about 95K total that have passed through the turnstiles. Subtract all the away fans and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that that home support average is around about the 3-3.5K figure.

Not knocking them as it's quite a small place and is full as glory hunting Celtic and The Rangers fans.

Yet between 1993, when Tommy Burns got them into the Premier League, until around 2003 their average attendance was around 9000.

I'm pretty sure Rugby Park hasn't moved any closer to Glasgow since then - so I don't think the old firm glory hunter arguement carries much weight?

By the looks of it they would probably benefit from relegation to re-ignite some interest: http://www.fitbastats.com/kilmarnock/club_records_league_attendance.php

Perhaps... But more likely that would just finish them off as a full time club.

Kilmarnock is far enough away from Glasgow to have a decent catchment area. Always thought they could do more to establish a bit of a power base.

Most of the Old Firm fans probably just drive through on the coach off the ferry.
