So does that mean they'll be able to afford some catering kiosks and toilets in the new stand?!

Good luck. We need our young players heading down to England to actually make an impact so the clubs have confidence in actually paying decent sums for our talent.

He's a bit suspect defensively but it's a good level to go down and test himself at

Should use the compensation by paying their debts! Charity thieving barstewards!

As a Cardiff fan I'm well pleased that we got him on a free. One of the best young players in Scotland. Needs to work on the defensive side of his game but fits perfectly into a 3-5-2 type formation.

No big transfer fee though for them which is good :greengrin

He's out of contract but they apparently still get a development fee. Not sure how it all works.

Aye not sure what the development fee is but wont be anywhere near what were looking at getting for him. I'm sure they wanted over a million for him before he got injured!

Is this a threat to the future of the red coo?

Or will it's services still be required?

£400k for a £2 million player is a poor effort.
Good athlete, can play lots of positions, scores goals.
How good is he?
Not sure but we will find out.

Does that not work out at about 20p in the £1?

That's an awful lot better than Hearts paid out to the people who they owed money to?

Some saying there is a 15% sell on clause

I think he'll do quite well in a division that is more about having a bit of pace and power rather technique

Some saying there is a 15% sell on clause

Surely not? If he's moved under freedom of contract and a development fee is agreed then there wouldn't be a sell on clause, that would only be the case if the clubs agreed a fee similar to ourselves and St Mirren but I've not seen anything that suggests a fee has been agreed by the clubs.

Cardiff will pay the development fee.
Hearts can't add any clauses or conditions.
Powerless.

Apparently Paterson insisted on the sell on fee.

Apparently Paterson insisted on the sell on fee.

Fair play to the lad if true, I'd be surprised at the club agreeing to such a deal though knowing it could cost them millions if he's a success of a recoup of lost wages if he's not. It's not as if there was a massive amount of clubs chasing him

I wont forget Paterson's cowardly assault from behind on Dominique Malonga, resulting in a straight red card for the freak.

The 400k will pay for half of the seats for the new stand, still plenty more needed.

He will be a flop and will be back at hahahearts in a couple of years. Where does the £400k figure I keep hearing come from? Is there not a panel of "experts" who look at each case on an individual case?

That is if the clubs can't agree.

Can just imagine how that conversation went....

Hearts: "We want £2m"

Cardiff: "No chance"

Hearts: "ok we want £1.5m"

Cardiff: "Nope"

Hearts: "We demand £1m"

Cardiff: "Not going to happen"

Hearts: "Right..... £500k - final chance, we won't accept any less"

Cardiff: "Well........"

As soon as Paterson said he was not signing on the bartering stopped with anyone.

Being injured there was no chance of him being transferred out when his contract was still in place.

So really all he has done is giving Cardiff a chance of getting a bargain, but they are still taking a big chance as he may not be the player the Yams thought he was going to be!!!!

Personally speaking, I don't think he's anywhere near the player they think he is
