Agree.

It really is the sort of thing you encounter amongst the amateur and part time clubs down here who need to raise funds just to keep going.

What makes it worse here is they are being soaked for extra cash already with their double whammy on ticket prices, cake sales, funless fun days and plastic seat back sales.

They just told themselves that to make themselves try feel superior.

Big clubs are Real Madrid etc

Got a feeling the cow will be around for a while as they try to find the funds to finish the new single tier main stand that big clubs have.

This Cow business is worthless in the grander scheme of things and does more damage to the big teams credibility than it is probably worth, whats the most it will raise? A couple of grand? At what cost? It exposes the amateur business plan that has been embarked upon by their board, it underlines just how badly underfunded the whole project is, it highlights to the watching football world the utter incompetancy of the entire club from top to bottom, clueless board with a possibly suicidal business plan, clueless director of football, clueless head coach, clueless fan base and a squad of players who have become de motivated by this complete shambles of a club. They are now a joke club better known for begging from their fans and bumping their creditors than for any sporting value they may once have had during the cheating years.
A period of decline is inevitable for them and with Hibs on an upward trajectory it is clear that the balance of power is changing in the capital and the cash cow will come to symbolise the depths to which this once proud club has plummeted since they opted to embark on a policy of spending beyond their means way back when Mercer took over. Karma has arrived at Tynie at last. The Karma Cow.

[QUOTE=City of Green;5062360 funds to finish the new single tier main stand that big clubs have.[/QUOTE]

That can't be right. The new stand will have at least 4 tiers, more than any other in Scotland. It's just that only Hearts fans can see them. To the rest of us it's just one tier. Some kind of magic or sorcery I suspect.

I mean, for some reason they claim the other 3 stands have 2 tiers on the basis that they have a wee walk way to help folk get to their seats.

It's quite amazing whats happened in the last couple of years. The way our clubs have reversed.

Yes, the way the club stiffed many local businesses was disgusting, but in the aftermath, the way the fans raised money was tremendous TBF, and Budge and Levein quickly dealt with Locke and the dead wood, and put together a team that excited the increased crowds at tynecastle. They dealt with the championship with ease, and looked like they were on a roll. Season tickets continued to stay high, and they consolidated themselves in the top half of the Premiership.

Meanwhile, although things had improved in the wake of our dreadful relegation, we were now dropping points in silly games and getting frustrated at how many games we dominated without getting the win. Our season ticket sales were around 8k and attendances were rarely over 9.5k

Then came February 2016.....
The 2-2 game at Tynie followed by the 1-0 win at ER really seemed to change the landscape. Hearts season was over and they really increased the pressure on Neilson. Hibs went on to win the Cup and all Hearts could think about was how Neilson had thrown it away. In a lot of fans eyes, he was now finished.

Last season started with Hibs Hibs bravely losing out to a decent side in Europe while Hearts limped out to some Maltese minnows. this added to the mood trajectory in each camp. Hearts then started the season quite well and with a 2-0 win against Rangers, they moved up to 2nd in the league. Then Neilson left and in came Agent Cathro. They started poorly under him but after drawing Hibs in the cup, a load of short term deals were brought in (Very Hibs 2010-2013) and they trounced Rangers. Spirits rose and they were now preparing to hammer their rivals in the cup. Revenge for the previous year. But in the first game the fans were completely outdone by the 3800 Hibs fans, and then back at ER, their players were completely outdone by the Hibs team. The role reversal was complete. The hibs fans continued to be buoyed by a decent cup run and went on the win the league, getting a fair few sellouts on the way and averaging aound 15k. Hearts finished the season with a Butcher-esque run which was only saved due to the points gained under Neilson.

Hearts now find themselves relying on former players being drawn to the club, and strikers from the English non league, season tickets are apparently WAY down on previous seasons, their Scottish talent is leaving in drovesand they are back to begging for cash. Hibs are back in the big league, season ticket sales look like breaking modern records, Nigerian & Israeli internationals are being brought to the club on permanent deals, and our core of Scottish players are being tied down and added to.

Pleasing, as a jambo might say :greengrin

They never were a big club - whatever that even means.

They just told themselves that to make themselves try feel superior.

Big clubs are Real Madrid etc

Got a feeling the cow will be around for a while as they try to find the funds to finish the new single tier main stand that big clubs have.

Ah, but remember Cathro's words when talking about Hearts - 'For thousands of people Hearts are their Real Madrid'

Aye, they're alike as 2 peas in a pod, Yoda - Real Madrid are backed by a bank and Charity Thieves FC are backed by a PIGGY-BANK !

The hibs fans continued to be buoyed by a decent cup run and went on the win the league.

That's what I don't get either. Before announcing that the stand was going over budget they were already trying every daft scheme known to man to raise funds to meet a shortfall between what the had and the 12 million the stand was supposed to cost. With this latest announcement, which doesn't actually say how much over the original 12 million its going to go, exactly how short of the funds required to finish the stand are they?

I have no doubt they will have it functional by the target date ..... but how they can do that without it impacting on the player budget or the Budge having to dig into her own pocket is anybody's guess. If I was a Yam the first thing I would be asking is, with the club sitting on what's looking more and more like a financial knife edge, why the hell are we employing a director of football who is costing the club a fortune and failing in his job? :greengrin

However the EEN article states demo won't be complete until end of July and it will be open in time for first weekend in September, leaving not a lot of time to complete structure, roof, install bleachers/seats, install services and do a basic shell fit out (assume it will be a shell with nothing more than a chip fryer or two required?) and get it inspected and signed off with a certificate to allow it to open.

When you say steelwork progress, how long does it take to paint it all the right shade of pink? And is it just Ian Black and a paintbrush or has he got help this time :greengrin

Have a search on here for when we did the East.

It was amazing how quickly all the seats went in once the framework was up. Granted they've got a hell of a lot more to do with it being their main stand but most of it will be completed through the season.

The East is still a basic shell really, would be good to hear what plans we have for it.

Does anyone recall one of Buggies earlier epistles where the new stand and barbiecues (sp) were first discussed? My point was that if demo doesn't complete til end July and they have a completion date for first week in September that only gives them the month of august to complete it all and that seems bloody tight to me and you wouldn't catch me telling a client that was achievable

I assume: demo to complete, some concrete foundation works to go, steel frame to complete, concrete stairs / bleachers / planks to be installed, roof structure / finish, the worlds biggest curtain wall to go on and whatever other external skin it needs, painting, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire systems, seats, toilets to go in, catering units to be fitted out, handrails to stairs, turnstiles, safe access formed to get into the place!

Not necessaryily wrong , when they say things are do-able, it means it can be done.

Working 3 shifts a day and weekends could see the project completed rapidly but that would cost £££££'s.

You only have to look up the road and see the new Borroughmuir High School project. Three completion dates given out by project managers/architects/builders have come and gone and it's now going to be about 18 months late.

l'm out in the west coast off the states so ain't seen the pbs progress for a while but the decision to demolish the old stand after building the new one around it was crazy imho.

I know a bit about construction and make a point of passing their new stand most days and it looks to me like it's running behind schedule.
Their last game was weeks ago and I would have expected their old stand to be completely down by now but they are only just stripping the roof? I can't believe they think it will take until the end of July to get the rest down? When we built the east, we had our last game there and when we came back for our next home game it was gone. Couple of weeks, three tops.
It's also going to be more difficult for them to get the prefab concrete in now that they have the new roof trusses in already?
The steel work is the easiest bit in any build and makes it look like they are making great progress but they still have a long way to go with that especially if the demo of the old stand is going to take another 6 weeks.
One thing I've not noticed is if they have a main contractor or are they trying to self manage to save costs? That could leave them very exposed to cost over runs if there are delays (few jobs don't have delays). When we built the east we had a fixed price and that was it.

Nope, all done with mobile cranes.
It looks like an awkward build to be honest. With the roof trusses up and steelwork at the back and no access to the pitch it won't be easy to get access to the front of the build with cranes.

The yams are building a concrete structure with the minimum support they can get away with and putting a cheap roof and sides on it.

They are fitting it out if the drones manage to fill the big maroon cow up.

There's no reason to assume they won't have a shell thrown up roughly on time, probably over budget hence the warning now.

You can see from these pics that we had all the pre cast concrete craned in before we built the roof. The Yams can't do that.
We also had access at the front of the stand due to our larger run off areas.

That's how a proper main stand is built with 2 tiers!

Driven past the yams new structure and actually thought it was smaller than the images and pictures shown online.

I'm still curious to see how the next few months go with building and funding - Budgie did say some time in 2018 it would be fully operational. Surely hospitality will need to be ready for new season in the new stand ?

Also hope the nursery gets sorted for minimal disruption for the kids.

Nope, all done with mobile cranes.
It looks like an awkward build to be honest. With the roof trusses up and steelwork at the back and no access to the pitch it won't be easy to get access to the front of the build with cranes.

Sure big gouges out of the pitch won't impact on the hoofball though? 😁

Sounds like erection sequence hasn't been thought through or more likely some delay in the pre-cast so proceeded ahead with work they could get done to try limit delays? It must be a tight and akward site though!

I have always thought the stands at Tynecastle look very low from the outside. Is their (under-sized) pitch below pavement level?

Don't think so?

Their new stand isn't anywhere near as high as ER stands.

Though we knew that as it's a slightly shallower Wheatfield.

I still find it hilarious they are spending so much on adding just a few thousand extra seats and the pitch is still the smallest in Scotlands top flight. They are stuck with this for many years to come !!

So a bit further ahead than had been suggested! Can see why demo is so slow as they have to work to the front or one end to get the materials out! Getting the pre-cast in will be tricky though as steel is blocking most of the rear and above access....

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Instead of a main contractor they are using a project manager, Hardies. They set the program and appoint the various contractors to the project.

Budges brother was main contractor on the Wheatfield Stand work and I heard he will be involved in the fitting out work, if the cash cow delivers.

That's a pretty good video - never seen it before. It does highlight the challenges they'll face getting the concrete in for the seating decks. I've said on a few other threads previously that I can't believe they won't have to use the pitch at some stage during the process. Maybe they are coming up with a construction first. The way it's heading though I wouldn't be surprised to see remnants of the relic still in place come September.

I would imagine the problems with the dismantling of the old stand and the time its taking to do it relate to the Asbestos within it.

They couldn't start before the season end as they had no other facilities and that asbestos would have been a hazard when exposed and needed dealt with in one go rather than piecemeal.

The only way they can get the concrete pre cast in situ IMO is to do it in far smaller sections than ideal and it will be like a giant lego puzzle that wont be that stable in the years to come and will hopefully require high ongoing maintenance costs, although given the state of the rest of the ****hole I doubt they will bother.

The time lapse video doesn't show it but there did not seem to have been much preparatory work done to the ground behind the old stand prior to installing the steel to support it?

Its an awful lot of money to pay for a giant library / bus shelter

One thing they will have is much larger usable space behind the stand. The building at the back of their new stand is pretty big.

Jambos looking in should consider where they stand after their deplorable journey of cheating.

Compare their stadium alongside that of a new club that is yet to kick a ball.

A club that has a shorter history than The Rangers - and that takes some doing.

Bit unfair posting that on this thread. That stadium would be the envy of any club in Scotland and beyond. Unfortunately the game isn't swimming in the same levels of cash that appear to be getting pumped in where you are.

Will be interesting to see how a material delay might impact them given they are back loading home games. A 4-5 week delay could be as many as 6 home games played without the new bus shelter open.

I am willing to bet the Budge will take the cash up front and delay that little gem of an announcement to latest point and then re-emburse the fans with mini cash cow's and a lunch with Hearty Harry.

Seems obvious that the tramps have ran out of cash to pay the contractors anything more than a few beans to keep a skeleton team of two jakeys and a hammer banging away till the pub opens.

Probably yet another panicky fan beg soon. Budge must be losing interest now.

Only for for up to two years then its back up to 6% :-)

Is that right about tailing off of action on site ?

Now is the time for maximum progress if there was any chance of meeting the deadline. Could be asbestos dust threat from the demolishion requiring other trades to be kept away, or as you hint failure to pay the contractors.

Fortunately / unfortunately I'm many time-zones away from Gorgie so unable to have a chat with the hard-hats on site.
