If we take out the post war years up till 1959 we have every chance of having the highest average attendances in our History next season. In 1972/73 with Ned and the Tornadoes it just over 16,000 and in 2006/07 with Mowbray and our young Guns it was just less than 14,500. If we sell 12000 + season tickets and we have a successful campaign, it will be close.

I reckon our average will be about 17K as our home games against Hearts, Celtic and The Rangers are bound to be sell outs. Aberdeen won't be far off a sell out either.

Good times ahead.

Add an average 2,500 walk ups

= an average 16,500

When you look back at historical attendance figures it's interesting to see that it's not just modern fans that are fickle. In 1951/52 on the back of 4 years of top 4 finishes including two league wins, we were getting an average of over 31,000 at ER. 10 years later and that had slipped to less than 10,000 !!

Will be absolutely fantastic should and when it comes to it we only have to give the two arsecheeks half a stand.

No issues giving Hearts the full stand unless that's what they give us as it makes for a better occassion.

Would be great if we could do that, but we need to sell had of the South as well. Can we do it, as well as selling out the other 3 stands
Remember fixtures against the Glasgow duo are usually played at lunch times, and on TV

How is the averages so low for back then. The way my dad would tell stories about games in the 70s it was as if there was 40-50,000 at the games. Is he just romanticising and forgetting about poor attendances?

It wasn't unusual to get 35K at home games against Celtic, Hearts and that other team from Glasgow that disappeared a few years ago. Many a match against the like of Patrick, Ayr United the attendance from memory was 7 or 8K. Never 45-50K except for maybe the Scottish Cup replay against Rangers in about 1973 when the crowd was 49K and thousands didn't get in. That included me.

Can remember us losing to Celtic 4-2 at home round about 72/73 with over 40k at ER. Dixie Deans hat trick again I think.

it was Feb 74 with 48 and a half thousand. 1st and second ion the league.

If someone told me the day before we got relegated that we'd lose against Hamilton but get promoted 3 years later with a Scotland international in Midfield, go 7 games unbeaten against Hearts, win the Scottish cup and have over 10,000 season tickets sold I probably would've took it.

The club started the initiative of Kicks for kids where at the time people could buy a kids ST for £75 and it would be allocated to a deserving cause. Mikey was an admin at the time and thought of the idea of people chipping in if they couldnt afford the full £75 and the site bought loads on behalf of the dotnet members. Franksuzy then started a proper charity taking the donations and setting up a monthly payment plan as well as auctions etc and donating it to the club for the kicks for kids initiative. You could probably still buy direct but suzys made it easy for us 😎

Well done hibsdaft the exact information i was looking for that shows we have sold 25% more season tickets this year when compared to the same time last year.
Think we sold 10,600 last season,
add 25% to that = 2560 extra season tickets
= a new total of 13,160.
Add an average 2340 average away supporters and 3,000 walk ups
= average crowd of 18,500!!! (up 3,000 on last seasons Championship average so not pie in the sky)
Onwards and upwards. The future is Hibs

Average away support will not be as much in my opinion and probably average out as 1750 Walk ups will be affected by form (up and down) so I would say 2000 - 2500. I agree 12,500 to 13,000 season tickets achieveable.

My guess for season average crowd would be nearer 16.500 - 17,000.

When i added it up originally I had 1840 away fans and 2500 walk ups so my average attendance was estimated at 17,500. However, i added 500 to each of those totals based on our average attendance last season (15,500) being almost 5000 more than our season ticket sales (10,600).
Time will tell but i suspect my original guestimate of 17,500 to be about right. Certainly don't expect an average of less than 17,000 and up to 18,500 is possible.
A happy outcome for the club whatever the actual totals turn out to be.

Compared to last year the numbers look great.
But did we not finish the season with 11.5k ST holders. Given that 10.1k includes new ST holders does it not mean that over 1.4k or probably over 2k haven't renewed yet? Obviously today the last day so expect a surge but it seems a big number not renewing?
Maybe lot of people renew after deadline?

think it was 11,200 we ended with. Hibs confirmed a few weeks ago that there was already over 1,000 NEW ST holders, so at least 2.1k ST holders from 2016/17 have yet to renew. There may be some that only purchased kids tickets to get a cup final ticket so we may lose some of them, but hopefully the majority renew.

18 homes games. Say they miss the 6 games (at most, spilt permitting) against Celtic, The Rangers and Hearts.
12 games it only works out at around £2 per match.

Agreed - it's just nice to know that after all those years of dross-football and dross-players at ER, whilst we HONESTLY paid our way in the game, that at long, long last, the Jambo looks like it's at last getting it's just deserts after 30+ years of cheating. Dot counters getting some rest and recharging batteries for 2nd June onwards twice daily updates as all remaining seats will be made available from tonight.

Amazing folks, by the start of last season we had sold 10,600.
Suspect by close of play today we will equal that number with 2 months till league kicks off.
300 sales a week would take us up to 13,000 season tickets sold!!!

From Evening News...

"Today Greig Mailer, Hibs’ head of marketing and communications, revealed sales are currently running 28 per cent ahead of this time last year, effectively putting the club “two months ahead”.

Describing the figures as “really encouraging”, Mailer also disclosed they include around 1500 fans who didn’t buy one last season."

Think we sold 10,600 season tickets last season plus 700 half season tickets giving a grand total of 11,300.
From your new season ticket holder figure of 1,500 that would leave 2,300 still to renew.
There is a good chance that many of the half season ticket holders might not renew so probably leaving a figure under 2,000 for those still to renew.
There has been a lot of sales in the last couple of days and that will have carried on until 5pm today. Suspect 10,600 will be announced tomorrow.
Lots of folk with poor seats will be waiting on the non renewed tickets to be released to get themselves what they consider a better ticket, next to friends etc.

There are loads of folk who always buy their ST's late so we still have them to join the party.

The signing of Ambrose signals our intent to be competetive which is all we can ask. If anyone needs more than that to sign up they need to support Celtic.

Thankfully I still have the receipt for next seasons ST coz I'm beginning to wonder why I bothered now ..... I could live with lagging behind the Yams in the glass stakes, but to now hear that we have been edged out in the chip race as well is really too much .... Purely from an architectural and historical point of view it will be interesting to see the stand once it's finished. The trouble is that although the rest of their stadium is relatively new, it's already in very poor condition in a cramped location and the new stand is going to look thoroughly out of place whenever it's finally completed.

Stop nitpicking.

It's going to be the BIGGEST (and the BEST) glass curtain, like everything else about Hearts.

I bet each individual chip will be at least the size of two large baked potatoes.

Remarkable achievement! And we are only at the start of June!

It's starting to get to the point where you will need a season ticket to get a chance to attend any Cat A matches...the dot count threads won't take long for these games if we are playing well and we could be seeing quite a few sell outs at ER next year at this rate!

It's going to be one he'll of a scramble for those walk up fans at category A games.

If I was 'on the fence' that alone would be enough to persuade me to get a season.

Trying to look at it from a non biased point of view if it looks like it does in the mock up photo it will look quite smart. A packed Easter Road every week and a packed Tynecastle will be good for Scottish football too. Of course I hope we continue to pump them every game.

Or are these arrangements pre made with the police before the season starts?

Won't happen as the club will guarantee a sell out of the south when they 2 and hearts come to ER, that won't happen if we give our own support part of the south.

They've only been selling them for about a week I think but they'll be well down on last seasons total. Living within your means and a strong Hibs isn't very appealing and they'll be back at Myreside or Boroughmuir on a Saturday before you know it.

Apparently we have been selling ours earlier than them because we are in financial difficulty.

First time for five years when the TO have a quiet season end with no cup finals, play-off matches or end of season backlog to get through. We finished our season nice and early to give everyone a chance to catch a breath, have a holiday, then plan the new season ticket campaign. So may well be earlier than them, but given the busy last few years, it was probably just the next thing for TO staff to move on to.

And just as well! Sales have been phenomenal. Well done to the ticket office bods and all the supporters who have committed to a ST.

Financial difficulties my bahookie.......

Think your right, I can see us reaching the 12,500 before kick off time, then with half seasons taking it up to between 13,000 - 13,500. With walk ups we will be playing to full home ends every game.

It would suggest so, but of course that's utterly impossible. It must be something to do with the stadium seats released for sale versus oh I'm waffling now and haven't a clue what I'm talking about.

Any dot counters/stand capacity logistical experts/sales policy gurus shed some light on this compelling mystery?

If the three home stands hold 16,500 and Calum's count is correct, we've sold 13,665 (minus the hospitality seats). Probably too good to be true, but fantastic regardless. GGTTH!

Going by very recent reported season ticket sales there's more likely to be about 5K unsold seats but a large chunk of them won't be available for season ticket sales and will be for hospitality etc.

Great show by the fans who have already committed to Hibs for the forthcoming season. Anywhere near 12 or 13K who be a great achievement but then we need to keep them. I can see us easily averaging 18K this season regardless of whether our games are at lunchtime on a Sunday or whether they are televised or not.

It's a good time to be a Hibby and that's without the promise of chips. Truthfully I'm not that keen on chips anyway. Give me mash every time.

I've said it before.

Hibs supporters should see a Season Ticket as a club membership.

Don't buy a ticket expecting to go to every game - buy a ticket to give back and show your support to the club over the full home and away season.

I know I will miss a few games due to TV changes etc but buying a season ticket for me is about supporting my local community club who gave me the best day of my life on May 21st 2016.
