Hearts season tickets go on general sale at 9am.
It will be interesting to see how many they have sold if they make an announcement in the next 10 days.
IMO we will be running neck and neck at 12,000 by the end of the month.
Their announcement will depend on our figures ;-)

That's because they can't switch seats online. They are all having to go into Tynecastle where they have a secret seating plan they won't publish.

Had been hoping to get my first ST in 12 years and also bring my brother along to get his first but sadly it's just going to be outwith my budget for now.
Instead we'll be walk ups to most games and try a few different seats before hopefully investing in a half ST and being ready for the full for 18/19.

Bump.
All gone quiet on this front.
Think we will be approaching 11,700 ST sales but would like an official figure released.
The yams on kickback reckon they have sold 12,500 but i suspect it may be lower than that at about 12,000.
Again they have made no official announcement.
On the upside it now looks like their sales have slowed down to 50 a day after the usual rush at the start of the general sale.
Suspect another wee run of sales for both teams at the end of the month when folk get payed.

There have been no uplifting announcements since Ambrose.
We need one right now to lift the massive downer of losing Cummings and to help persuade the undecided to buy a season ticket.
Fingers crossed we will push a few of the in progress transfer deals over the line at the end of the month.
On the hibs.net ST front Hibeesmad is buying 3 at the end of the month and Dashing Bob and his entourage are still to buy.
Any other posters on here who are going to buy a ST?

Got one on Fathers day so will be buying one for Leith Links
Team return for training next week and would expect some signings the end of month beginning of July
Think the club should make it clear we don't need to sell Mcginn this Season so unless an exceptional bid is made he wont be sold Ashe seems happy to stay till end of Season
There was a recent quote from Hibs saying we are still pursuing core targets so i assume that is still the case but no deal is Completed yet for any of these core targets We all know who the goalkeeper is and assume Whittaker is also on that list
But no idea who strikers or wide players with pace are Prepared to be patient and think if we get over 12 000 Season Tickets Sold by end if Month that is steady progress Target met and agree it will take decent signings to push on towards 13 000

Good post Ronnie.
Lays it out well.
The interesting bit is that the powers that be will be working on striker targets but none of us have a clue who they are.
Moult is a possible but unlikely given we have made no attempts to sign any players who would require payment of a fee e.g. Mallen and Boyce.
Stewart and Stokes are both on big money so might be non runners at this time.
May has had an extremely serious injury which may mean he can never be the same player again so signing him would be a massive risk which I hope we don't take.
Any other possibles? Nadir Ciftci?

Once Stokesy and Whitty are confirmed we'll be hitting that 13k mark no problem. Anyone who wants to guarantee themselves a seat to the big games next season should snap one up now. We'll be selling out against Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen. You might get a seat in a corner against the likes of Hamilton by walking up on the day :greengrin

Indeed. But I see renewal as much less an administrative and financial process as a spiritual one. I use the close season to 'walk the earth' and meditate, like Kane in Kung Fu, getting myself in the correct emotional space for the coming campaign ahead. And yes, I do have a flair for the dramatic so do give me a shout when 12,999 have been sold.

I am not ITK and if you know more and we are looking to spend money on the right striker that is good.
As I said in my post I thought Mallen and Boyce were perfect fits for Hibs although I appreciate that even if we had been willing to pay the fees and wages the players may have had set their hearts on trying their luck in England.
Personally I think we may be trying to sign a quality out of contract striker outwith the names previously mentioned on Hibs.net

Dont see the point in comparing ourselves to them and look to sell more Season Tickets than them
They have a sold base of fans used to buying Season Tickets at the level they are at
Think we will clearly shift more and exceed the 12 000 Target set
From where we were three four five years ago etc ours is a phenomenal achievement
We clearly had the better squad last year easily disposing of them out the Cup in some style
Think we therefore concentrate on continuing to improve our Squad and agree aStriker is now a key signing given Cummings departure
Think we will have Budgeted for 12 000 Season Tickets so anything over that is s financial bonus for Lennon to continue improving the Squad
Am content with progress to date with proviso i expect The next four weeks to be busy on the Transfer front

Good post Ronnie.
I think 12,600 would be a good number of season tickets to sell.
An increase of 2,000 on last season.
Re matching them on season tickets sales: not bothered about outselling Hearts but given that Scottish teams get most of their cash from the paying fan I would like to see us get as close to their sales figures as possible. After that it is down to who spends their cash most wisely and recently that has been us.
Like you and most folk on here I am now desperate to see us sign a prolific striker especially given Jason's recent departure. I have faith that the decision makers will get it right and we will sell more season tickets on the back of it.

I reckon they will sell a good few more than us - anything up to 1k more probably.
The debacle of last season now seems a distand memory to them and the only thing they can think about is their fantastic new stand and getting better seats (oh yes, and the glass curtain - totally enthralling - yawn).
And, of course, I can remember how getting a new stand is pretty exciting, even if I am a bit blase about it now. (Did I really climb half way up Arthur's Seat to see the new East going up?)
Mind you, they still think that some good signings will be needed to spur on the ST uptake but I reckon if they get Kyle it will do it for them even if the rest of their signings are dross.
Anyway, if we can get ahead of them in the league then we will get good crowds at ER - there will be plenty walk-ups to make up the difference.

West Sold = 6,407 - 1,088 - exec seats = 5,319 - exec seats

I agree with your figures which means we have sold around 12,800.
Only other reason I can think of for the difference in what you calculate and what Hibs are claiming to be sold is that a lot of seats outwith hospitality have not been released for general sale. :dunno:

If there are only 2691 seats left for walkup fans in the traditional Hibs end then they'll sell out very quickly in the lead up to almost every home fixture.

True. But then the club might want the next story to be one of a signing(s) following on from the sale of Cummings. Then release the number. Might seem better than a 'we've just sold our top scorer but at least the ticket sales are great' take that some would take from it

Seems amazing to say it but at some point club would surely have to say that no more seasons will be sold beyond a certain number ( 13000 perhaps ) ? Might even be a good marketing ploy to sell more . Even with a programme for unused STs to be sold to walk ups for some matches think club should be keeping quite a few tickets for walk ups ( in long term got to give new fans chance to go and there are also many thousands of lifelong HIbs fans who don`t go regularly for many reasons who shouldn`t be denied chance to see their team ) . Maybe Family Stand could have been South ( just for Cat B matches ) with adults there given priority in FF or other stand for Category A matches .

Nah .... If we had hit 12,000 I cant believe the club wouldn't have announced it ..... even if they do have a big signing waiting in the wings.
Correct. Hibs announce a figure and that's good enough for me. If we had hit a significant landmark sales wise it's in hibs interest to announce it as less walk ups available and would therefore drive more sales

McGregor definitely said we'd sold 12k on SSN on Friday. Strange that we've not had an update from the club for a while.
You would think if we had reached the Target set ,which was 12,000 the Club would want to celebrate that and set new Target Keeps the momentum going

Think they might do it along with the official announcement of the Marciano signing.
FWIW i don't think we have reached 12,000 sales yet given we were only selling about 25 per day in the days after 11,450 sales was announced.
If that level of sales has continued we would be sitting at about 11,800.
An alternative view is Hibs will announce 12,000 ST sales towards the end of the month when folk are about to get paid in an effort to start a fresh run of ST sales on the remaining seats in the 3 stands.
A good striker signing announcement at the same time would help this strategy greatly.
Suspect Hearts will do the same especially if they can get Lafferty in.

Seems amazing to say it but at some point club would surely have to say that no more seasons will be sold beyond a certain number ( 13000 perhaps ) ? If every seat in the house can be sold to season tickets then it should be. No way we should be capping the amount of STs available.

I disagree, as much as it is extremely unlikely to happen at Hibs anyway there has to be a way new fans and those unable to commit to a ST can watch Hibs. The ground would never be full as literally hundreds of ST holders seats are regularly empty.I know you can use the argument that so what at least the seats have been paid for but for me there always has to be scope for walk ups to attend. How do kids progress to becoming full paying adult fans if their parents can't introduce them to the odd game.

I agree that we need to make it accessible to new fans and
those who can't commit to a ST, but we have the south stand to half fill with walk ups for category B games though.
Also a continuation of the scheme where you give your ticket back to the club if you can't make it - a wee incentive wouldn't go a miss there either. £5 worth of credit if the ticket is actually sold again to be spent in the clubshop/on cup tickets would be a reasonable gesture.

If there are only 2691 seats left for walkup fans in the traditional Hibs end then they'll sell out very quickly in the lead up to almost every home fixture.
Never seen anything like this in my lifetime.

I've not seen anyone seem that confident it's a done deal tbh - if it is meant to be...weird how it's not featured much in press. Still no confirmation of Rocky yet either despite reports in Israel to the contrary. We seem so slow at announcing signings and renewed contracts sometimes...it's very frustrating- the likes of Boyle and Fontaine had re-signed weeks before it was confirmed.

Think there is an expectation already that these two deals are possibly done so if announced it wont be that unexpected
Its the Striker that needs to be getting fans excited and sell more Seasons . I think we will pass 12 000 comfortably without signing a Striker , but to give us any prospect of reaching 13 000 we need a proven scorer
Wasn't bothered about Lafferty but with Aberdeen being linked with players ( no guarantee they will get them ) i think we need to get that key Striker in before we start the Cup games

Ronnie, think even the most settled of us have become twitchy since Jason left the club
With Aberdeen taking Stewart, Hearts taking Lafferty and Rangers signing loads of guys, hopefully the field will be open for us to sign the next quality striker who breaks cover without our closest rivals getting involved.
The only strikers on the horizon at the moment to us not ITK are May, Moult, Maloney, Stokes and Ciftci.
I'm sure the club are working on a number of striker targets both home and abroad.
Fingers crossed we get the quality striker we need soon so we can all chill again  and some of the undecided can be convinced to get a season ticket.

If we could get to 13k I think that would be fantastic, get a couple more thousand walk ups, followed by the sell outs vs Hearts, Celtic and Sevco, and probably close to selling out vs Aberdeen, then we'll probably average around 18000 next season!
I think we'll plateau at about 12,000 but it's still excellent.

At the end of last season their crowds were poor to say the least - people with season tickets weren't turning up. And yet they're signing up again in their droves? Ok then!

Not sure how you can say that. Murray-18 goal striker last season, Swanson PotY at top 4 club and 15 goals, Rocky/ international GK signed on a 4year deal, Effe an unbelievable signing another international player with bags of experience.
I suspect Hibs will sign at least two more players but the days are gone of loads of journey man pros from England's lower leagues. LD & NL are targeting first team players who will improve us.
Really can't see what's to disappointed about

Totally agree with this though not convinced balanced, rational assessments will take off around here ;)
I think the reason there's so much angst is that we don't have the main striker I'm presuming we're going to sign in yet and the jury is out on whether we're expecting to sign a first choice strike partnership or whether Murray is earmarked as a starter. I think if it's the latter then there may be bedlam on here.

Agree - for me it's obvious that Hibs were reporting the number of STs up to 11,500 almost on a daily basis whilst the Hertz were below that number. As soon as the Hertz exceeded our value (well they do have 400,000 fans) Hibs stopped the almost daily updates. That and the fact that we've maybe reached our peak has meant that it's all gone very quiet from the Ticket Office.
But, really, who cares what the final number is going to be. If we end up with close to 12,000 STs that would be a fantastic result, something that we can build on if we have another good season.

If we do well this season, the impact of having so many season ticket holders will be quickly apparent. Tickets for non season ticket holders will be in very short supply and that, in turn, will increase demand. There is a lot of hope going into this season and the club is well positioned to benefit from it in the long term.

How the F can anyone think that 11700 ST sales is disappointing,, its briliant, and if we can sign one major player that could push us over 12,000. Money in the bank, will see a few sellouts this season, record kit and merchandise sales, the feel good factor, been nothing like this around the club for years. Onwards and upwards and will folk stop comparing us to them. Were miles ahead in everything. Stadium, training facilities, quality players, quality fans, club leadership, manager,,they dont have a pot to piss in,the list goes on and on. We are miles ahead in every aspect.
STOP comparing us, theres no comparison. We know it, and the worst for them is, they also know it.

Ronnie.....what 3 signings are we making next week?
Should of said possible signings Just think we are again being linked with players and that the Club will want to get some transfers over the line or move on
So if we have had a fee accepted for the Cambridge lad you would think we would want to be pursuing that one before someone else nips in
Whittaker if its going to happen at all
and a Striker
Am in optimistic mood having bought my first Full Season Ticket in ages

250 ST's sold in the last 3 weeks is disappointing.
Leaving us with 10% less sales than our rivals.
Don't care what Hearts have sold, this is a record for season tickets for us and cannot be spun to be anything other than fantastic news. :flag:

Based on the club announcing 11,450 sales on the 12th June and a poster saying he/she was in the ticket office today and asked them how many we have sold and was told 11,700.
Therefore 250 sales in almost 3 weeks.
Cheers. Thats quite poor.

The effect of selling Cummings might have slowed sales.

I think this is undoubtedly true, but some new signings we see a surge. We will break 12k and possibly push on to 13k.

I suspect we've hit saturation point if I'm honest. Still a great effort with the vast majority of people pledging early.
Would take some signing to capture the imagination of a large enough pool of people not already committed to get us to the 13k mark.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to piss on our chips.
As baw 187 suggests I think we hit saturation 3 weeks ago.
However, on the upside there will be a late surge with the usual last minute buyers plus Leith Links Suzie buying a couple of hundred. Suspect that will take us up to 12,500. A striker signing that floats the imagination could push sales towards 12,750.
Re comparing with Hearts, season ticket sales largely dictate player budget so that is the reason I want us to get as close to them on sales as possible. This season we will have made major inroads into the season ticket gap and after next season they won't have the feel good factor of a new stand.
I suspect they will pay out an equivalent amount to rent their training facilities and the loan and interest to Ann Budge to that which we will pay to keep East Mains maintained plus the money we pay back to Sir Tom Farmer.
Re the executive of both teams, Ann Budge is good but we shade it with the great combination of Leanne and Rod.
Re manager, we are well ahead.
Re playing squad, the signing of a quality striker would put us well ahead at this time.
Putting the local rivals thing aside, they will be our long term league rivals for 3rd given their budget will be closest to ours so it's important to at least match their revenue stream and season tickets is a major part of that.

Id agree we have reached saturation and agree that a couple of signings plus the other streams you mention will give us a boost. I suppose the good thing for us if comparing ourselves to Hearts is we don't have anything outside the normal club budgeting to pay for where as Hearts need to fund their stand.

Why do we give a flying one what they have sold over the road. They live on trying to beat us, it's all they have. We are bigger than that. We are Hibs. We win. It's going to be great and it's not in relation to those losers. GGTTH
Exactly. I personally couldn't give a **** about what they've sold. Unlike them, our entire existence isn't based on our rivals, leave the "we're big, you're wee" pish to them.
Lets get a few exciting signings in the door and get ourselves over the 12k mark.

just like our transfer dealings. I'm sure when we strengthen more will buy a season ticket.

We have sold the most ever. It's not lack of signings that has slowed it down it's the fact that everyone has got one.

One marquee signing and we'd easily blast through the 12,000 and possibly 13,000 mark.
I honestly think after all these years Petrie has learned nothing at all.:agree:

Very much this. We've broken our season ticket record which is extremely good going. We'll get 12k ish regardless of who else we sign.

My guess is that we will have sold 12250 by the start of the league season, even if we didn't sell any more 11700 is a tremendous amount.

I reckon we'll be circa 13k for season by time half season tickets are sold which would be another milestone in our history. Amazing considering the dross we've been subjected to over the last 10 years. Cup win has been so important for the club.

A tin of caviar and a couple of grams less would cover the cost.
