Not sure there were many goals there immediately prior to Hibs, but Kuqi. Zilch.

Finished his whole career with less than 100 goals for his many clubs. Was never really prolific.

When the ball hits the net and it's not Jorge Cadete....it's LAVETY !

Basher spent more time in Leisure Land playing the puggies than training at ER.

Clayton Donaldson

He scored a decent amount (albeit many were penalties), and was a young player testing himself at a higher level. Then went on to have a decent career.

I was thinking that too about Donaldson, so I went and had a look. Turns out he scored only 5 league goals for us, and 4 were penalties.

Did he not a hat-trick against Killie?

Nah. He did fine.

Brewster only played about 18 games I think - played well , scored few goals - then got injured....

Williamson made the mad choice to not give him a new deal after we got him fit again ..and the rest (for him) is history..

yep. he scored 2 pens in that game and missed one.
After that hat trick in September, he only scored 1 more goal for us all season. He made 18 league appearances in total

Was hoping we could get through this without mentioning him.

Looked like a blonde Max Wall and ran like him as well, I remember him scoring once when a clearance rebounded of his knee, think it was a European game.

Got the poorer half of a swap deal when Ian Munro went to the now defunct Glasgow rangers and we got him and Graeme Fyfe

Antoine-Curier was signed around the same time as Donaldson IIRC and also contributed very few goals. Went on to score a lot for Dundee.

Going back a lot further I recall being excited by the signing of John Brogan in the early 80s. He was bit of a goal machine for St Johnstone but only scored once for Hibs (I remember the goal mind you and it was a cracker!).

Mark McGraw was another who seemed an exciting signing but got injured and never really recovered fully.

Mark Caughey arrived in 1986 as a bit of a 'coup' having been in that summer's Northern Ireland World Cup squad. I seem to recall Kenny Waugh had flown out to Mexico to sign him. Didn't score once for us, but did quite well after that for Hamilton.

Good shout re Brogan. He was a prolific scorer before he joined us and I was delighted we got him.

Think he was reluctant to turn full time as he had a good job and St Johnstone suited him.?

Dunfermline (who were spending like dafties at the time) offered him slightly more money, but more importantly for him a longer contract. Hibs only offered him 1 year due to his shoulder/injury problems and IIRC, he got a 3 year deal at Dunfermline.

He was gutted to leave Hibs but didn't see that he had the choice at that stage in his career.

Given how difficult it is to get goal scorers it's amazing you still get Hibs fans offering to drive Jason Cummings south every time the is rumoured interest.

James Collins - banged in the goals before and after us
Clayton Donaldson - Has went on to do very well in the championship down south
Chris Dagnall - Couldnt hit a barn door at us, back down south banging them in for Crewe

Vaz Te - Admittedly didnt play much for us, but also didnt look great when he did play, banged them in down south and ended up in the premier league!!

Nah, you're thinking of Mark Oxley

Started with a goal-a-game ratio after scoring on his debut from long range, before ending his time at Hibs with one goal, one Scottish Cup winners medal, a number of derby wins to reflect on. :flag::flag: 'mon the Ox!

Liam Craig always chipped in double figures for St Johnstone and is back scoring for them.

Who did we get Danny Swanson from again ?

I've clearly misremembered his time at the club.

I thought he was decent for us but the stats don't lie, I suppose.

He was very decent for us, he had a great partnership with Garry O'Connor and and brought his game on no end.

He was considered a good player and his general standard of forward play was highly regarded but for whatever reason as the OP title suggests this enigmas's goals dried up.

luna wasnt exactly a known goal scorer before he joined us, think the most he got in one season was 14 before he joined us. good player though

Was that league ? IThought he scored 8 (source Ihibs) still was less than you'd imagine - it was more about the kids.

He played about a dozen games, then got a bad injury...came back towards the latter end of the season - was only really fully fit as the season was ending. As I recall most fans liked him, it was a nap he would do well the next season. Was a mad decision not to retain him.

I don't think Hibs had the cash to come anywhere near what Dunfermline were offering in terms of wages or length of contract.
