This might just be me reading too much into something but every video on hibs tv this season has had the hibs badge with an emerald green background at the start

The new video that's just went up about Stevenson signing a new contract has the same start but with a bottle green background

Coincidence?

I studied media and I know editors love to put little Easter eggs like this in to see if people notice so I wouldn't rule it out

I prefer the darker green but I wish we'd just settle on one. I thought the vote last summer was meant to be final.

Nah, it's good the have the chance to mix it up or else it would limit how much variation we can have with our kits each year

Did the club not have a vote on what was 'Hibs green' not that long ago to settle this very argument? Emerald green was a clear winner iirc...

They did. It would be strange then if the club decided to go against what the fans had voted for. The poll showed the majority of Hibs fans see Emerald green as 'Hibs' green. None of this bottle or racing green please.

Maybe for polo shirts and other merchandise, though

Polls are just snapshots of opinions at a certain moment in time.
A new poll would most likely have a different outcome.Last years poll was only for last season, not forever.

Unless we have a glorious white with green sleeves away top, which we could then wear regularly away from home if needed.

The dark home top , worn with the green away shorts could be worn at Parkhead to avoid any argument of a clash there :greengrin

With the amount of times we wear the away shirt I don't think it matters

Most likely???

Bottle green sucks !! That would be my vote....most definitely if 'Bottle Green sucks' were an option. The green on the green flag below is better. The Sauzee era colour was great especially under the lights in October 2000.

Somewhere between this seasons top and the bottle green that has made sporadic appearances in recent years.

Early 70s Hibs green is how it's referred to on the Dulux chart I believe.

SirDavidsNapper
09-05-2017, 07:20 PM
Or we could keep everyone happy and reintroduce the bottle/emerald monstrosity from 2012. Never thought a Hibs strip could ever be honking until then. Conveniently coincided with a honking team.

And maybe another 33% will spoil their ballot papers, so you might be right and the result will be a lot closer than I thought.

I suppose style is just as important as the colour....well important. I just have the view of those bottle green t-shirts that looked so cheap.

We shouldn't continue to mess around with the home kit like we have in recent seasons. Pick a green and stick to it. Something half way between this seasons and last seasons shades would be perfection. Keep the dark bottle green for all dark green away kits like we had in 2007. And keep the white socks for the home kit - that's our cup winning and Championship winning combo, so it's both good luck and a good look.

The quintessential Hibs strip, IMHO. We got quite close with the last Puma strip.

Bring that back and put a club crest on :hyper

Bottle green is our original and cup winning colour. Plus, anything to put some space between us and Celtic.

Personally, our 2012-13 kit was perfect. That sold out in about a week, gutted I never got one.

What is clear from this thread is that we should alternate between bottle green and emerald green, as they are both popular.

Despite all the moaning about Nike, last years and this years are top notch, and will be remembered as classics in years to come.
