I'll second that, would like to have seen him get a crack at the next level with us next season.

Top notch post. A player who I personally enjoyed seeing on the pitch and who served us well. All the best.

Good luck Keats, hope he does well - deserves a good run. Great finisher and seemingly a very positive character in the dressing room. Forever enshrined with the rest of the Scottish Cup winning squad.

The way its looking he might well be in the championship again next season, but if United make it up I'm sure he will get a warm reception on his return to Easter Road as would any of our cup winning team that leaves. Good luck to him

All the best to Keatings, liked him but wish he would have scored more goals. Hope he does well.

I wonder if this decision is based on him thinking Jason's more likely to be here next season than not, which will continue to restrict his starts? Alternatively, it could be purely down to money.

Was really unlucky this season with big injury as he was playing really well. All the best.

Best of Luck to James Keatings, other than against us obviously.

Part of our legendary Scottish Cup Winning squad and scorer of the goal in our home tie with ICT.

I hope he steers clear of the niggly injuries that blighted him with us every time he looked like establishing himself in the team.

He pegged sevco back when he came on at Hampden and helped turn the tide. He scored some great - and important - goals, too. Cheers, Keats. All the best.

Good luck to him, and hopefully we'll see Keatings finally play in the Premiership next season or the one after. At which point all good wishes will be rescinded for 90 minutes :greengrin

I wish him every success for the future. He has left as a club legend for that day last year and will be welcome back at Easter Road any time.

I feel this move is for the best for both parties though as he wasn't going to feature heavily for us next season and we need better than him if we're going to succeed at the top end of the Premiership.

All the best James.

Thank you Keats!

Quality player- one of my strongest memories from the day is keats sprinting over to the north and up the touch line.

Fabulous stuff! Thanks again!!

All the best. Hibs hero.

He will do very well at United. Sensible move for him in terms of playing time rather than being a squad player at Hibs next season.

Cup winning legend who will always be welcome at easter road. All the best to him.

I'm assuming McKinnon has given him assurances he will be first choice striker. If so I can't really blame Keats. He's behind a 36 year old in the pecking order at Hibs and young Shaw will be breaking through hopefully. Will score a barrel load at United...if they stay down.

Good luck United you have got yourselves a gem, a mean left foot and the right not too bad either, watch his goal against Falkirk at ER last month, all the best James Keatsy's on fire.

Really wasn't bothered who came up with us or who stayed up ( as long as it wasn't Falkirk). But now I 100% want Dundee Utd to come up just for JK commitment he gave to getting us up.

Left a Hearts team and came to us no easy feat in itself for any player to join a local rival, but joined slotted in and gave nothing but 100% and I will always be forever in his debt for 21/5/16 as with every other player who played each game to get us there and on that day forever etched in my memory.

Feel sorry for him that no one seems to be prepared to give him a chance in the top division. That's Hamilton,Hearts and now us, that have punted him straight after promotion was achieved. Despite having a decent scoring record.

Ah well. All the best James.

Would you not want to test yoyrself at highest level and fight for your place at one of Scotland's biggest clubs? Shows a lack of belief which we saw at times at Hibs.

He chose to go to Hearts and hes chose to go to D.utd who could yet still provide him with SPL footy next season. Im sad hes chose to go but understand why he has.

Or earn more money?

The contract we offered may have been commensurate with a squad player, not a key member of the first team.

I feel a bit annoyed he won't be with us next season but there you go.

The office Arab wanted to know more about him today.

So I told him that Keatings has been lucky white heather for the last four years - Hamilton were promoted, Hearts won the lower league, Hibs won the Scottish Cup and Hibs won the lower league.

Cant be many players with three champ medals.oops only 2. Doubtful any player has or will have medals won with Hibs and Hearts. Gordon Smith... James Keatings

And Smith also won the league with Dundee. Winning the league with three different clubs is probably unique, even before you consider that none of them were Celtc or Huns RIP.
