Lots of Hibs chat today at work with the sell out and season ticket sales etc.

It was suggested that we budgeted to go up which we have achieved. It was also suggested that our increased income has put around 2M more in the coffers which is going into the football budget across the next three years.

Can any any money minded folk here confirm this? Apparently tomorrow alone had contributed around 230k above expectations? Is this correct?

Our average attendance so far this year is 15,137. Add on a 19k gate tomorrow and it hits 15,350.

Last year the average attendance was 9,291.

Difference of around 6,000 per league game. Over 18 games at around 18 quid average ticket price that works out at around 2m.

We'll have taken a hit from a poor run in the league cup, and not reaching the final but that will be offset somewhat by increased merchandise sales (would be interesting to note how much we've made from the DVD sales).

I would be surprised if either cup run would be Part of the budget regardless of how long, surely teams don't budget for a long cup run? Can't see us taking a hit with the league cup run as the Scottish cup run would have made us a few quid?

Hibs budget for the 1/4 final of each cup.

I'm surprised by that, didn't think teams would budget for it but, everyday' a school day 😉

Regardless of the cup run budgetary aspect, surely to god having 2M additional funding is going to mean that our recruitment is a level up there with Aberdeen.

Hibs budget for the 1/4 final of each cup.

I don't know how you can budget for the unknown ? So many variables, including TV money, category of fixture, policing and stewarding, etc.

I'd doubt it very much.

AFAIK, we budget for no progress.

Was definitely mentioned at an AGM that Hibs budgeted for the quarters of both cups.

Was several years ago though - in fact might have been the year we won the League cup?

Add £ 125,000 + for new shares issued since last June.

That's not turnover. It's extra cash, of course, but won't be in our turnover.

The Stubbs, Doolan and Holden money would be interesting to know......and did Hibs not get share of TV money for the Brondby away game ?

Hibs budget for the 1/4 final of each cup.Even if true how would this work out ? We could lose in quarter finals after untelevised away matches with tiny crowds at eg Stranraer , Brechin and Dumbarton or lose to eg Celtic in first round after replay with both matches televised . Hearts must have made quite a lot of cash from playing last years`s winners and this year`s semi finalists home and away despite losing both times .

Sorry, I meant compared to last year where we reached league cup final and won Scottish Cup.

Imagine we'll have had a decent year, and like last year will turn a profit (more so if we cash in on Cummings and McGinn - which I hope we don't).

We must have sold 15000 copies of time for heroes surely? And at £25 a pop that'll be a wee bonus.

ssshhhh stop telling folks were sitting on a pile of cash, clubs might hold out for more cash for players.

.... at around 18 quid average ticket price....

I think you'd have to reduce that quite a bit, as the increase will include a large number of extra kids STs, some of which work out over the season at about 3-4 quid per game.

I think Hibs announced previously that around 70%(?) of our ST sales are some form of concession tickets.

That Brondby away money wouldn't have been much.
