Very few political "heavyweights" these days. We need a Question Time Legends.

I would watch Heseltine, Kennedy, Smith, Jenkins and Salmond.

Couple of Tory plants on the show last night. Both councillors, and one asked to comment on the panel discussions.

BBC and the Tories, hand in hand, just like, May, and Trump.:greengrin

I stopped watching question time ages ago. Used to love the programme and it was always good to see some political debate with some top politicians. Unfortunately it has gone downhill and with some of the audiences being so one sided it's not worth staying up till nearly midnight for anymore

The last one in Edinburgh was like a pantomime. The Tory was getting booed at every opportunity

Question time on tomorrow evening from the North east of Scotland. The Tories have put up conservative peer, Michael Forsyth, and Labour have Ian Murray. Jeane Freeman for the SNP, with Angela Haggerty, and Stephen Fitzpatrick as the fillers.

Seems like the narrative that we didn't know what was around the corner has taken hold in regards to Covid. Of course we ****ing knew, it was unfolding in front of our eyes abroad before it took hold in the UK.

It used to be much better. I'd like to see highlights of old Question Times featuring people like Cameron and Johnson before they hit the top just to note how they've twisted and turned over the years.

Videos from hospitals in Lombardy were doing the rounds 3 weeks before we locked down. I told my brother who was staying in his flat to go and move back to our parents before the shut down the chance to move. We knew what was coming, but Johnson flip-flopped his way through: thank god he was still shaking hands with everybody though eh?

I agree we could all see it coming, it's not only Boris who needs scrutinising though. What were the leaders of the other 3 nations doing?

The best they could within the limitations of their powers, as far as I could see.

I’d say the whole constitutional issue is significant and important but the bottom line is that many of our (the UK’s) early problems were caused by having a government who were ideologically very right wing. They were more bothered by the economy and Brexit than they were about saving lives and took an age to wake up to what was going on.

FWIW I want any inquiry to be robust, tough and unbiased. If it has credibility and finds fault with the SG (which I think it should, and will, particularly on the subject of care homes) then I’m happy for criticism and consequences to follow.

If it’s a kangaroo court, put together to unfairly discredit the SG and unfairly advance the constitutional aims of the Tory party then it can do one.

Indeed. The devolved parliaments were practically powerless at the outset of the crisis and were only given certain powers at the end of March.

You can’t seriously be suggesting that any of the devolved nations could’ve locked down earlier without the backing of the UK government? Lockdown was only possible with the furlough scheme and that wasn’t something the devolved nations had the power to introduce. Tbh your arguments are becoming more spiteful and less credible.

Spiteful? I was trying to make the point there's too much finger pointing and blaming going on, no one is absolved of any blame. Do you think Sturgeon is blameless in all she has done? The conference in Edinburgh brought some criticism some her way amidst cries of another cover up on her part.

Do you seriously think Sturgeon and Johnson can put their differences aside and agree on anything? not a chance. It's been all about point scoring and I think Sturgeon is as culpable as Johnson.

She'll do anything to drum up more support for her nirvana of an Independent Scotland.

Yip, pretty cynical of Sturgeon to keep Scotland’s deaths from Covid below the rUK level just so we would trust her more with Indy.[emoji849]
