well, Scotrail have only banned booze for the outward trains between 10-12, so who's having a wee bevvy before 10? I'm fancying the 9:14!

I went there for the cup final in May, it was about 10 minute walk down a straight road to Hampden. Just go under the tunnel as you get off the train. I can't remember the journey back- was on cloud 99🏆 Have a great day!

You can't drink alcohol on trains prior to 10am. It's a nationwide ban that's in place all year round.

If your early enough its no problem but they start to segregate the trains so you end up having to go via kings park as that's the queue you'll end up in if you've got colours on. Coming back, the police won't let you through to mount Florida unless you walk the long way around which then becomes pointless and your better off using kings park.

*Scotrail ban (Can bevvy on xCountry, Virgin East Coast before 10am. If you're sly about it they generally don't bother on the more regional routes)

BTP have advised Central Station ques and trains will be segregated, Hibs to Kings Park with the Dons getting Mt Florida.

According to Scotrail Sunday will be bad between Edinburgh and Glasgow because of the Celtic v The Rangers semi. This was obviously a mistake, why would two Glasgow teams playing each other in Glasgow put pressure on the train service from Edinburgh to Glasgow? Am I missing something?

There's a First Bus service 75 that goes to Hampden from Central Station and also Ingram Street, which is close to Queen Street Station.
Takes about 20 minutes (unless you're close to match time)

There's one from Ingram Street at 10.35, due at Hampden 10.52 (time for a pint :greengrin )

Thanks it was letting me see the train on scotrail online but I'll nip into the station just now. Not sure I can face getting the kids up at 4.30am so might just drive down if there's no room left. Either that or take my chances on the train.

I've checked and that is the train I'm on (06:50). even got a seat booked from Pitlochry to Perth. Only booked it this morning, picked up my tickets at lunchtime. Ticket office told me the ticket (Off-peak day return) wasn't valid

Checked online, and all weekend tickets are off-peak! Thank F!!

Yeah I just went into the station and got tickets. They couldn't make 3 seat reservations together though so I'm going to have to either sit separately from my 9y/o and 6y/o, hope someone in the reserved seats opposite will swap or take my chances in the unreserved bit.

Loads of services leaving from Waverley so we'll all get there eventually.

I take it we just queue up, pile on and it's pot luck wether you get one of the more direct ones or one that goes round the houses. Not bothered as long as there's toilets.

Less than ten minutes walk. Come out of GQS and turn right. Onto Buchanan Street and walk down until you hit Gordon St or Argyle St and turn right. You can't miss it.
If you've got a smartphone then just stick the station in and it will take you straight there.

I am currently wishing I was still in bed rather than going to a Scottish Cup semi-final.
