It’s not going to be 10 in a row, Brendan!
In an ironic twist, ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon’s all conquering Hibs turned out to be the team that stopped Celtic from an historic 10 in a row. Having languished in the Championship for too many years, Hibs kept on improving season on season in the Premier League – 4th in 2018, 2nd in 2019, second again in 2020 and with 3 games left in the league, crowned champions in 2021.
Dame Leann Dempster, MBE, said that everyone in the ever-growing Hibs family was ecstatic and the calculated recruitment risks taken in 2017/18 had been the catalyst for this success. “We continue to look to the future and in particular to learn from the European experience of the last 2 years. Do not doubt for a minute that we can feature prominently in next year’s European Championship”. She loved the dignified purpose-built sedan chair, lovingly built by a group of fans, and used to transport her round the ground after the recent 3-0 win over Sevco3, The The The Rangers.
Meanwhile, across the City, Hearts new Assistant Coach, Teddy Anderson, a particularly bright eleven year old pupil at George Watson’s Junior school, has come up with an Algorithm that should guarantee promotion back to The Premier League. It will of course mean more extensive personnel changes on the playing side but Hearts fans are urged to be patient. A spokes-person for the Hibs fans sang, “Bring on the clowns”.
