Hiya.

I'm planning on taking my Dad to the St Mirren game. Because of his mobility problems, I've been advised to get a seat near the front of the West.

It's ages since i was last in that stand, though. If it rains, how many rows get rained on? How far back is reasonably guaranteed to stay dry?

Cheers. :greengrin

I often think the roof on the west is an optical illusion CWG. I sit in row H, so 8 rows up and still get wet when it rains.

Sat in that area a few times, never got wet but can see how you might if you're right at the front.

Actually in Row K west lower for this very game so might bring a hat!

Depends where you are. I'm in row G behind the dugouts and I stay dry when it rains. It's only when the winds blowing towards us that I get wet

I'm in Row F in block 7 and I can't remember ever getting wet when it's been raining.

Can't speak for the rain situation but one thing I would note is that when you've been recommended a "seat near the front" - I assume it's an actual designated seat for disabled access/people with mobility issues?

My experiences of sitting in the West Lower, near the front, are ones with very little leg room, or room in general!

It's actually to minimise the number of steps that he needs to negotiate.

If he's struggling for space, though, he has a stick. That always clears some room. :greengrin

Th roof covers th whole stand but, as others hav said, it really depends on how windy it is so its probly pot luck.

Unlike the PBS, where the front 3 rows of each stand aren't covered at all.

There is a lift to the Upper West, if you can get a seat near the front.

Hi, was searching for a lift in the west and came across this thread.

My old man is struggling a bit now and while our STs are close to the front of the west upper, the stairs will be a struggle for him now.

How do you get to the lift? Do you have to pre arrange with the stewards or can I just ask on Saturday?

Cheers in advance

I think you would just go the main reception in the West and someone will escort you up in the lift there?

I'm not aware of any other lifts in the West so guess it has to be that one.

You do know that rainfall is very unpredictable and prone to other forces, such as strength and direction of wind.

If there's no wind whatsoever, and the rain falls straight down, you're OK no matter what seat you're in. If not then, who knows....

Their is a lift is just into the left behind turnstile 24...I see people summoning it themselves just like a normal lift by pushing the button on the frame. it stops at the top concourse which sounds like it would be ideal for your dad.

MrsH6270 uses that lift every game (I still use stairs. Need the exercise!!😉😉). Steward has only questioned her once over the years but as long as you have a legit reason, there's no problem using it.
