Wow, that's come out of nowhere. Mind you, I do remember him scoring a cracking shot from the left side for Dundee against Hearts years ago. Put them out of the cup I think.

Talks the talk but can he even walk. Hope he fails miserably. Always comes across as a smug know it all. Even thought that he was the main man when interviewing Brenda Rogers when Celtic won the title.

Similar to G.Neville. Talks a good game. Will be interested to see how this works out. At least he's giving it a go. Fair play.

That's a big surprise. I think he's one of the best pundits actually.

Farce, imagine sacking a manager who has 3 promotions and a top six finish ( in the last 5 seasons) on his CV for a pundit with no managerial experience. This will not end well.

Needs the cash for when he gets his tax bill for his EBT with oldco.

Massively over reacted about the pitch invasion before trying to make it all about himself. A Butcher-esque appointment.

Exactly what I thought when I heard it a few minutes ago.

Rather they'd appointed Andy Walker.

The only sensible aspect of it is it is only till the end of the season.

If he's the same as manager as a TV pundit Dundee will be a mid table side, safe from relegation without ever challenging from any honours. Most of their games will be goalless draws, with very few shots on target, but with some reliable, if unspectacular defending.

Hope Sky don't let him back, does my head in! Like Neville, he should never have got his job back on Sky

Down south Birmingham city have hired an experienced manager in Harry Redknapp to try and keep them safe. That makes sense. I think Dundee bringing in an untested, untried TV pundit to save them is ludicrous. Hamilton and Inverness must be rubbing their hands.

Let's see how it works out for old 'Arry though. The man can't function without money.
