I see that there are currently two Neil Lennon accounts (Neil lennon18 and Neil lennon44) the former was retweeted by the hibs official account whilst the latter has more followers and has recently tweeted that he is still off twitter. I assume the Neil lennon18 account is a fake one that has duped a good few people?

What really is the point of this fake account? Looking through the tweets it doesn't seem to be for laughs, and suggests the person behind it is a real oddball. I follow a few parody accounts that are entertaining, but actually pretending to be someone? Don't get it I'm afraid.

It's a really strange one. I can only imagine each reply and retweet he gets gives him a weird thrill as he's literally tweeting as if he's Neil rather than saying something controversial or mocking.

:agree: I pulled up the fake account this morning when he tweeted that with the schools being back, the M8 would be a car park again. Told him I didn't really think that would affect his journey from Musselburgh to East Mains.....

Why? The players have used it to interact with the fans really well over the last couple of years. Some great stuff from JC, Bartley, SJM and Martin Boyle in particular.

If social media hadn't been around when Rangers went into administration they would have stayed in the SPL. The fan outrage organised on social media forced the chairmen to vote against their admission, as the mainstream media totally ignored it.

Yea the team has some great banter on twitter both with each other and with the fans which is great to see. It can leave them open to abuse (and i don't just mean a bit of football rivalry slagging, some stuff can get really disturbing) but thankfully these idiots are in the minority and do get hounded out by the majority.

If the players can use social media sensibly I really don't see it being a problem.

I thought the '44' one was real cause he was tweeting savage last season at the euros.

It is this same account that he has tweeted a picture from.

So I have no clue what is going on

I've got too much time on my hands but out of curiosity I reverse image searched some of the photos each account has posted. They appear to be genuine as far as I can tell which makes me conclude both accounts must be real. Maybe someone is at the wind up within club?

Was simpler times when LG was on twitter giving everyone both barrels. Usually resulting in him closing his twitter account......and opening another one a few weeks later.

Lennon only returned to twitter yesterday to say the other account was fake so that would seem a bit pointless.
