I think Neil is "getting" Hibs, displays like yesterday post match are special moments which I think he will want to repeat.
Genuinly feel good times are here again.

This. Lennons a winner and will never settle for second best. He will have his sights firmly on the cup now.

The fact NL did this, and the way the players hoisted him in air yesterday, makes a mockery of those saying he had lost the dressing room

I have had my doubts S (I probably still have one or two being honest!) but I was pleased to see the manager / player interaction yesterday.

I agree. Lennon has a different mentality to Stubbs. Just because the players don't have a relationship similar to they did with Stubbs doesn't mean they don't respect him.

The players have been used to the arm round the shoulder and Lennon doesn't always do that. I'm not saying one is better than the other. Both have been effective but are different.

Stubbs performance had a bit more flare whereas Lennons has more steel.

If we could get both we'd be laughing.

Players will like any manager who helps them add to their medal collection.

I think he builds special relationships with players that is not evident until 'special' moments occur.

I recall Leigh Griffiths running madly to NL and jumping on him and hugging him after he scored his first goal for Celtic against Hearts. I have seen the same thing happen this year at Hibs, although I can't recall which player.

He obviously is passionate about the game, about Celtic and by extension Scottish football but also seems to be deeply committed to players as individuals and getting them to be the best they can be. Of course a mangers success is judged by the results on the park. However, we all know it is not as simple as winning titles and silverware. It just seems to me that NL is just as committed to the players as individuals and as he is to his own c.v. and reputation.

Quite a number on this forum have said Lennon 'gets' Hibs. I can't find one shred of evidence to dispute this.

I am already getting excited about next season and we still have this little thing called the Scottish Cup to take csre of :greengrin

It must be nice for Lenny, knowing he is able to go for a celebration pint without the threat of explosives in the post.

The players really respect Lennon. He's got a different managerial appraoch than Stubbs. Stubbs was more a kind of arm around the shoulder manager where as Lennon is more likely to give them a bit more of tough love and certainly won't sugarcoat things for them, if they play shocking he will give them a rollackin in the dressing room. No approach is better than the other but some players like to be mollycoddled. I think Lennon though just pushes them to be the best. His rant after the RR game showed that. He was raging because he knows the team are far better than that, if he thought the team were crap then he wouldn't have been so frustrated, it was the fact that they completely under performed that game.

Lost the dressing room? Utter nonsense.

Lennon won't be best buddies with all the players, there will be one or two who don't overly like him but will respect him as a professional, you don't have to be pally with all your workmates, there's been many well documented players who dislike each other but they just get on with it as it's their job.

But at the end of the day he's not at the club to make friends, he's there to do a job. I couldn't care less if the players don't particularly like him as a person as long as they respect him and want to give their all for him.

Good point. Too many people underestimate the negative impact this atrocious treatment had on NL. Despite all of this he's retained his fighting spirit and winning mentality.

I'm so glad he's our manager.

I don't think in general the players have a problem with Neil Lennon.

When he loses it with them he loses it big time and goes over the top.

When he calms down he generally apologises for his outbursts.

In all walks of life you don't have to like your manager and as long as you do your job and appreciate he knows his stuff then there shouldn't be a problem.

I thought i read an interview from Lenny earlier in the season where he himself said he had shown too much of his intensr, nasty side and so he felt he needed to show the players his different side, and so thats when he took them all out together for a drink.

I may have that wrong, but to it suggests that while he didnt 'lose' the dressing room, he may have been struggling to connect with the players.

After all i think his style is quite different to Stubbsy's.
