It's an amazing story but I'm not sure I'd like to live to be that old, not leaving home for 20 years doesn't sound much of a life. The thread title is incorrect. The 19th century finished at the end of 1900 so the woman referred to in the link as now being the world's oldest human was born in the 19th century.

Tbh I made that sound far worse than it actually was.

He was a really nice old guy but his quality of life had gone downhill in his last 2 or 3 years. He had seen his kids grow up, seen his Grandchildren grow up and enjoyed his great grandchildren and he was just ready to go. I think that's difficult to understand for younger people as we don't like to think about our own mortality. I've found a lot of older people far more accepting of these kind of things.

No, I understand it perfectly. I really do, it was maybe just the way your post was written with that as the "punchline" :greengrin caught me off guard. And it's always nice to be referred to as "younger"! Haha I am 42, which is still young from a certain point of view, but it doesn't always feel like it. Loved the comment about her having seen us win the cup twice btw :thumbsup:
