Edit: 2nd highest league attendance beats the Yams best

16,803 versus The Rangers
16,777 versus Celtic

:hmmm: - yes, I missed out the Dundee United attendance which is the highest league attendance

Yes - I could have said that I made a deliberate mistake to try and catch fellow fans out but truth is that I made a Hash Brown of it.

17056 is a great crowd but given that the results went our way today and we won the league I am guessing that the amount of folk who say that they were there will be much more.

One for the stattos - when did we last have 17k+ for a home game against QoS? 1960s or something??

Edinburgh has one big team, and that team won promotion yesterday.

The poppy thieves are on a one way downward spiral.

They can't compete on a level playing field. They know it and absolutely hate it!

I keep hearing of a major squad overhaul in the summer and the likes of Preston stating that Cathro WILL be given a sizeable budget to do that. WTF is this money going to come from? Mrs B in her legendary statement has admitted they had budgeted for a fourth place finish. With the stand needing additional funding and a possible drop in ST sales, I can't see where all this dosh is coming from. Tough times ahead for the pinkies.

The attendance for our home game against QOS in December last season?

9,163. Quite a turnaround.

Our average attendances in the 1960s were lower than yesterday's attendance, so don't think it would have been then.

Possibly 1954? (http://www.fitbastats.com/hibs/game.php?gameid=66080)

As Lennon said in his after match interview, "I hope the fans stick with us, we wont be challenging for the title", and thats the rub a few bad games, crowds drop, Lennon must go etc seen similar scenarios in the past.

Very much looking forward to next season. There was a time I was bored watching Hibs at home v teams outside the Glasgow lot and Hearts and took it for granted we would win. After the last 3 seasons each goal , point and win will be precious.

Yes but there were more Hibs fans there against Queen of the South.
