Thought they might have been saving him for the final if we happened to get through to play Sevco again.

Where has this been announced?

I don't see it on the SFA website.

HIBS' DEFENCE OF the Scottish Cup came to an abrupt end at Hampden on Saturday in a game strewn with refereeing errors.

John Beaton failed to send off Ryan Jack for a torrid challenge in the first half and the Aberdeen captain escaped giving away a penalty when he hauled down Jason Cummings in the box.

To make matters worse, John McGinn was sent off for remonstrating with the official in the dying seconds of the game following the award of a dubious penalty for the Dons.

Hibs manager Neil Lennon was sent to the stands after the final whistle for the same offense, and is expected to make a formal complaint regarding the refereeing at Hampden.

Thomson for the final?

Thomson is probably the best of the refs eligible for our matches at the moment which is saying something. I would have included Madden until this weekend. Unfortunately we won't be getting the only decent ref for the rest of the season.

John Beaton had that horrific game in the Scottish cup where he had those 3 blatant howlers in the Rangers v Accies game and he still gets a semi final???

How ****ing blatant are the SFA? Corrupt ****ers.:cb

Honestly thought it would've been Craig Thomson as he's been the GFA's most loyal 'Go-to Guy' for some years now whenever they want us f****d - shows you how ruthless they can be as Beaton hasn't f****d us as often as Thomson has !. But it also shows you how fickle the GFA are as, although Beaton's 'F*****G of us' is fairly recent, it's in every consecutive game - whereas Thomson is more selective and picks and chooses the games that REALLY ****** us off !

Either way I think we'll ........................................... still WIN - we've broken their spell/run/bent-biased refs etc - the GFA just CANNOT beat us right now so let's just enjoy our current run of US F*****G THEM !! :flag:

We (i.e. Hibernian FC) need to voice our concerns for this referee's ability to be impartial so that hopefully, his performance will be scrutinised for evidence of this. This form of intimidation has worked well for two other teams in the past.

Had absolutely no idea they were brothers. Shame as he's by far our best referee.

So if Collum and Beaton get the semis, who gets the final? Madden? Thomson?

Luckily for us if he is a Sevco fan he aint gonna be too fond of Aberdeen either. Can see a dreadful performance from him either way.

If hibs don't make it then it'll probably be McLean. If we do then Thompson

Doubt McLean would get the Scottish cup final two years in a row so its likely to be Thompson in the final.

Or Madden. They might give it to him for personal reasons (i.e. due to his illness)

He missed a chunk of this season due to having cancer.

Might as well copy, paste and send it onto Leanne now! Sums it up for me and guess most hibees.

It doesn't really matter who the referee is. Time after time, week in week out, season after season, we have to witness and just accept some truly diabolical refereeing. The overall standard of refereeing is very poor as Neil Lennon said publicly just recently.

It's way past time a video referee was put in place, at least for high profile fixtures like a Scottish Cup semi-final. Anything that will eliminate, or at least cut down, the number of frankly unbelievable refereeing "mistakes" cannot come soon enough.
