George Best Hibs Appearances & Programmes

I'm trying to collect all the programmes from Hibs matches that George Best played in during his two spells at Easter Road. I've pulled together the list below and by my reckoning he played 25 matches for Hibs of which 24 of them had programmes issued. Does anyone know of any other matches that George played in for Hibs and if so was there a programme issued for it?

Thanks for the reply, I checked the programme for the Arthur Duncan testimonial, George isn't listed in the team line ups. There is a bit in the programme about George trying to get Pele to play in the match but unfortunately he had another commitment! It also states that George was required to play against San Diego in the American League and that was the reason he couldn't play.

We played San Jose Earthquakes in a friendly at Easter Road in October 1981, I'm thinking this could be the match that you mean and that George played in this game?

He did indeed, thank-you. This match brings me up to 26 appearances for Hibs, plus the San Jose Earthquakes friendly in October 81 where he played against Hibs.

Correct again, he did play in this match and also scored twice although Hibs won the match 4-2.

So I now have 26 appearances in a Hibs jersey and a further 2 appearances against Hibs playing for San Jose Earthquakes.

I'm thinking that could be all now, unless someone else knows differently?

He did indeed, the programme from the East Stirling match on 17/9/80 has a report of the match against Dundee on 9/9/80. George "made a triumphant return to Scottish football and laid on a late winner for Gordon Rae" :greengrin
