He isn't getting a look in for a team in the relegation zone in the Championship. They may seek to get rid. If they do, we won't be competing with Championship clubs to sign him.

And the thing about stokes is he never seems to get injured or suspended, a pre season to get him fully fit and he must be a huge asset to us if he signed.

Bumped into him at the start of March in Temple Bar in Dublin so asked him if he'd be back. Loves Lennon and almost came back in Jan but due to his well publicised fine, he said he might have to try his luck in China/India/MLS. Said there are offers but hasn't decided yet.

Sounded like we might see him back at some point but not soon. We were both mortal though so whether that's actually the case I don't know.

Generally yes you need a completely clean slate. On occasion people get visas with convictions but they tend to be short term visitors - musicians, boxers etc. I'm 99% sure AS wouldn't get one.
