Just been having a discussion my wife and her pals, on which is the best- Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. Although the Walking Dead is an excellent series, I prefer Game of Thrones. Thoughts?

Big fan of both, very entertaining. Or at least they were until the Walking Dead decided to spend two bloody series bogged down in a story line that could have been covered in about 3 episodes ..... the latest series has been going round in a loop and has been as slow as the bloody Zombies ...... lets hope they get back on track soon.

Yeh, some of the episodes in Walking Dead seem to really drag these days, with people trying to 'find themselves,' but the finale to the current series was good stuff. Still prefer Game of Thrones, but that's just my personal opinion obviously.

Classic 'spin it out' behaviour that you get from a lot of American series when the ratings are good enough.

GoT, in my opinion, is far superior - so many story lines and sub plots and a clearly defined end so no 'spinning'. I'm really looking forward to July and the start of the next series.

This series of walking dead felt very much like it was made for binge watching rather than weekly instalments...maybe it's always been like that as I watched most of the previous stuff back to back over the last couple of years and quite liked the 'wire style' slow evolution of the story from various characters perspectives...

As for the Op...no idea as I've never watched game of thrones!

Game of thrones is superior to TWD, although I am a huge fan of both. This latest series off TWD has certinely been 'slower' however, the introduction of Negan has been excellent, great villain 😁 cannot wait for the return of GoT in June!

Walking Dead gets worse and worse every season. I grudgingly still watch it, desperate for the few and far between excellent splatter that they can pull off. They constantly inject new characters and expect the audience to care about their piss poor development before snuffing it. IMO it peaked with the governer and hasn't been as good since he left. Megan injected some fresh nerve but this season that just ended could've been done in 8 episodes not sixteen. I find myself rooting for the walkers every time they get close to a main character. It's becoming really pish and doesn't look anywhere close to being cancelled or coming to a decent conclusion. It started as a quality zombie genre horror serial and is now cringey melodrama.

I've never seen TWD, but am due to start it soon.

GOT I started again for the third time last week.

I've seen a lot of TV and I'd say it is far superior to anything else.

I am super excited for the new season.

Sons of Anarchy was a great watch but not anywhere near as good imo.

Narcos is much the same.
I felt the first season was really slow and became a drag the second one I thoroughly enjoyed.
I ended up buying a book on Pablo. Interesting stuff.

But again nowhere near the calibre of GOT.

Definitely game of thrones.

The walking dead has gone massively downhill over the last 2 years.

Is Game of Thrones no about goblins and such crap - like Lord of the Flies?

There's a few dragons and that in it but mainly it's about a power struggle.

Nut, it's a bit like "come dine with me" but instead of it being about who serves up the best nosh it's all about who has the best kept toilet.

And who can throw the best wedding reception.

Never seen the TV series but I've read the books.

Remember when the goblins fly out of the conch, just after Piggy breaks his glasses, and everyone lives happily ever after.

It's like UK politics but with more sincerity and prettier dragons.
