Whilst I dislike most of the names mentioned on this thread, I'm pretty sure all of them would beat me in a "square go".

So I'll go for Anne Budge. I don't even really mind her, but I had to think quite hard to come up with someone that I wouldn't get pulverised by.

Dead easy, one Chinese burn and he'll run straight to Mrs Budge who will send Potter round to get you.

Terry Butcher beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Although he'd pagger me in a square fight so let's even the odds slightly by equipping me with a baseball bat and a cat o' nine tails.

Does anyone from leith remember terry christies brother who was a bit of a bevvy merchant? He used to come up to you in the bar selling stolen stuff and introduce himself as square go christie. My mate bought a couple of things of him and when he asked for his change square go through him a pack of sports socks.

How many of you would expect to get the better of a professional athlete in a fight?

And I include M59's tussle with the mascot in that :greengrin

:agree: i hate Houston but he would destroy me in a square go. I do, however, like my chances against Budge, Cathro, Willo Flood and Whoopi Goldberg.

Edit, I could also take Sandi Toksvig down.

Yogi Hughes may have been the hardest Scottish footballers who ever lived. He was a tough laddie when we were growing up in Leith.

I would like to see Yogi having a square go with Ian Black, Peter Houston and Jim Duffy. He would take them all, at the same time and with one hand tied behind his back!

I think he could be surprisingly hard.

He's a wiry wee git, and his ugliness means that he could probably take 4 or 5 hefty skelps to the head without having to worry about his boyish good looks being affected.

For someone like me who cannot fight sleep I'd probably be better coming up against someone like Andrew Shinnie. Go in all aggressive, all guns blazing and have him howling "don't touch the hair, anything but the hair" before he's sussed how easily he would actually kick my head in.

This is fun. Its like being the new kid in primary 2 again, working out where in the pecking order you fit in.
