I notice ex North Lanarkshire MP Helen Liddell looks like she was named after a club legend.
She was born Helen Lawrie Reilly in North Lanarkshire in 1950.
Just a coincidence or did Hibs have such a good team in the late 40's early 50's that they had supporters far and wide? (there seemed to be no Edinburgh connection with her)

Interesting one, that. Nothing on the internet to indicate one way or the other (apart from her father was a Catholic, and as we know, Hibs were a "Catholic" team for a long time). You'd probably have to ask her. And she's quite scary.......

Lawrie was probably her grandmother's maiden name or something.
