Message received from Robbie, security officer at the Club, that the drum will not be granted access on Friday.

A clear attempt at restricting the atmosphere our support generate.

Lets raise the roof for 90mins and show this backwards Club what a support looks like.

They were very quiet the last time at tannadice, so won't take much to out sing them.

To be fair its a ****ty stadium and may well lead to a dangerous situation if having to evacuate, its women and children first, not big bloody clumsy in the way drums. Insert smiley

Hopefully same again! :agree:

You don't need a drum, just get whoever's in the back row to bang on the perspex wall.

Problem solved

It's about time these were re-introduced to Football.

No harmful smoke or other emissions... although it's best not to be standing right next to it.

Within their rights to make the decision that benefits them..

That's what home advantage is all about.

Can we be really obnoxious and all go into the ground with a whistle each and blow it for ninety mins?

It's apparently to do with residents complaining. Might as well ask us not to cheer goals either.

Just looked online and Motherwell fans were also unhappy about not being allowed to take theirs last season.

I seem to recall Motherwell doing something similar when they came to ER, caused a fair bit of confusion both on and off the pitch as you could never tell if the ref was blowing for a foul or if it was the 'Well fans blowing on theirs.

Their stadium, their home game, their decision. It's not something they've designed specifically to annoy us.

The drummer can have the night off, as long as our players are at it!

It's their prerogative. If our ground was a library like Tannadice/Tynecastle and a noisy away support were coming I'd want the club to do everything they could to stop them making noise and giving them any sort of advantage. Fair play.

The atmosphere last time was terrific despite the petty banning of the drum, and hopefully a noisy Hibs support can this time spur us on to the win. Just don't cheer too loudly though if we score out of respect for the residents nearby.

Yup ..... their home game, they can do anything they want to maximize the advantage that gives them.

I have many fond memories of games where the Hibs away support was absolutely brilliant and there wasn't a drum to be seen ... we don't need a drum to make a noise at away games .... we can show that on Friday night :aok:

The atmosphere from our end at Tannadice in December was amazing, one of the best away ones I can recall.

There was no drum that night....but the singing was kick started by the lad who, despite having his drum taken off him, still had the sticks!! If I recall, he just battered the stand instead of the drum and away we went.

Same again please! :greengrin

Pathetic from Utd tbh. It's hardly as if Tannadice is an arena of noise, anything to increase the atmostphere should be welcomed.

Awck well, if the Utd fans are anything like last time they wont be difficult to out sing or drown out. Boring *******s. Lets just make sure we are extra loud right from the start and prove we don't need a drum to create noise.

Marathonbet are missing a trick here, they should be handing them (link below) out to Hibs fans before they go in to the ground with the Marathonbet logo on it.

Are you sure? Do you have any evidence to back that up? In fact give me one example of anyone ever being killed by a flying drum at a football match.

Yeah, and f you took your belt off and wrapped it round someone's neck you could kill them!

Who's going to throw a drum? That's just an argument for having the drummer in the front row.

Good point we should all have to go naked in case we launch our breeks at the ref.

Why is their wage relevant? Do you look down your nose at every one on a "crap" wage?

Thats a foul
slagging folk for being on a "crap wage" - they are doing what they need to do to help themselves and their families just like the rest of us, good on them
how are they the worst stewards, they are in the main just doing what they have been told to do, just like the rest of us, it's what you do to keep the job especially if you need the "crap wage"

In any case - how does the behaviour of stewards make you want to beat a football team more :dunno:

To be fair, any reason is reason enough to want to beat a football team more.

I always want Motherwell to lose because I failed to complete my sticker book when I was at primary. I just couldn't get that Stevie Kirk in action sticker. Hated Motherwell ever since.
