:agree:

It's obvious why they were determined to attach silly little phrases to our club.

Now that the financial doping has ended, it looks like normal service is being resumed.

I remember walking into Glasgow Central in a bad mood thinking Hearts had won, and being met by a trainload of happy Celtic fans. Improved my mood no end.

Could also have mentioned them getting beaten at Tynie 2-0 by Killie in the final game of the 1964-65 season and thereby losing the league on goal difference.
I was there with a Leith Academy school scarf, blue and white stripes,,,,, loved that day!:agree:

Does it mention when Potter had an internal collapse and couldn't get on the pitch for the yams greatest day at Dundee in 1986?

It was actually goal average in those days. If it were goal difference then Hearts would have won the championship from Kilmarnock
And then hilarity of hilarities in 1986, Hearts lost to Celtic on goal difference and would have won the championship if it had been decided on goal average! Ha Ha

So, so cruel both times but what joy all the same. These two final day collapses earn the Jambos the deserved and undisputed title of "Jambottlers of all time"
"Jambottled-it" is the definitive phrase to use for any team that has silverware in their hands and throws it away on the last day.

To think that they had the cheek to use the phrase "Hibsed-it".

Was at the Celtic v Hibs game about 2 weeks before end of season at Parkhead and remembering leaving stadium getting beat 2-0 and both goals were miles offside. Totally dejected and gutted about celtics win.

Last day off the season was over the moon and thinking if only they two goals had been offside lol. Then week later they lost to Aberdeen in Scottish cup final same result as we lost to Aberdeen in league cup final. Same season too if I remember correctly.

'Most crushing title collapses in football history' ??

Dunno about that, No.14 was quite simply the 'Most DELIGHTFUL/ENJOYABLE/EXQUISITE/BEAUTIFUL game in football history' - even watching it on YouTube now still gives an enormous amount of pleasure, the newspaper-clips of the fans of 'Charity Thieves FC' greeting their eys out are just superb !

They were brutal footballs. Remember playing for the school when I was 12 and getting smacked right on the side of the face with an orangey brown one - couldn't see for about 10 minutes afterwards.

I suppose this article will need to make space for a new entry.

Not a title collapse as such obviously, but has anyone ever thrown a cup tie away in such fashion?

Can think of a couple of cup ties lost in the last 10mins last season from seemingly unassailable positions 🤔
