Live TV Show from 6:30-8:30pm tonight. Very worthwhile debate for anyone who has an interest in the youth game. It's live here: https://www.facebook.com/likeyfs/videos/1484131758294884/

Whatever we're doing it's not working.

From pushy parents to coaches who think they're the next Mourinho, yet constantly shout at the kids.

I've seen so many kids at ages from 5 to 15 that have been turned away from the game because of rubbish poor coaches, typically parents who think their boy is the next Messi.

I wish he would practice what he preaches.

One of the interesting things I took from it was George Craig suggesting that boys teams should only focus on participation rather than setting up performance orientated structures, essentially meaning that the best of the best go to the big clubs. Makes sense, but feel like it will result in less improvement as too many players will not get that competitive edge

Until Hibs invest in decent youth coaches they should perhaps hold back on handing out guidance to boys clubs. They would be much better off investing in the Elite coaching from 14/15 upwards. Get the best of the best rather than just filling jerseys at younger ages (coaches and players)
