In his weekly column in the EEN tonight he's having a dig at the hertz players for wearing gloves against Ross County last week. Reckons it may have contributed to their defeat. Good old Medals :roll eyes:

From the great man;
I know this might be deemed a silly observation – and plenty will feel it’s nitpicking and of no relevance – but I couldn’t help but notice that the majority of our players were wearing gloves on Wednesday while not one of the Ross County players were. I recognise that football has changed since my era, but I still think if I was up against a player wearing gloves, it would make me fancy my chances of winning my individual battle with them. I definitely wouldn’t have fancied going into a match with a bunch of team-mates predominantly wearing gloves. I felt that scenario offered a good snapshot of our team at present.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing against St Mirren. One of our players had long sleeves, knew it was over right there and then.

In fairness to Mittens McKay, I dated a girl from Gorgie one time and told me back then that gloves were for pansies. She couldnae get them on her hands because of the knuckle dusters she was wearing......

Thumbs up on his observation.
He's just pointing the finger (all 6 of them?) by stating the obvious.

I cant remember if they were feeling the cold in the cup demolition at Easter Road but they never laid a glove on us.

Tend to agree with him. I'd noticed a lot of them wearing gloves too. It does make them seem like a bunch of wusses so I can see how it might give the other team a little bit more confidence. That's trouble with a team of mostly non-Brits, can't handle a wee bit of cold weather.

Wimps.Personally I don't think spectators should be allowed to wear gloves never mind players.

I don't think their gloves were their main problem when they came to play us, more the fact that their gloves didn't match their blouses or handbags.

I never saw Mackay in that long and illustrious career of his win one single medal wearing a pair of gloves. Read into that what you may.

Can't believe Levein overlooked this genius for the job.

At least Cathro was happy with their formation and saw the positives.

Gloves. Yes, that's the reason they keep losing.

I'm surprised Cathro hasn't figured this out with all the algorithms and data at his disposal.

Yep, Ironically it was for best maroon mittens in their annual knitting competition.

He tried for the big one in the knitted tie and matching cardigan class but some guy from Dundee pipped him with ten minutes to go.

I have it on good authority that the gloves Cathro wears have a bit of string sown on which is run through the sleeves of his jacket so he cant lose them

Franck Sauzee used to wear gloves - can't remember if he has more or less medals than Gary though?

Medals has been reading Brokeback, they've been going on about it there.... thats in between all the wailing and gnashing of teeth regards their closest rivals continually tearing them a new one and stopping them earing loads of dosh these last few years!

Sauzee also lost 2 front teeth scoring against the jams. 5 minutes later a salute to the east and the game restarts.

A magnificent 7 of them were wearing under armour AND gloves when they beat us the 1st time.
Fyvie and Holt disgraced the club by wearing long sleeves tops while the rest had short sleeves

It's definitely harder to grip someone's jersey wearing gloves. McKay was a serial shirt puller in his day.
