Just for a bit of fun, I thought I'd gauge people's views on when we would clinch the Championship Title (or not, if you're a bit negative )

8th April when we beat Morton

15th of April at home to QOS. Despite our recent poor league form I think the gap will marginally widen. Might even have it in the bag the week before against Morton.

After the Raith match, United and Morton will need snookers.

Haven't a clue when the league winners will be known.
Using average points won with the last six and last three league games, then multiplying that average with the number of matches remaining here is my estimate of the final placings.
Points average raised to next decimal point. Last Six matches Last Three Matches

Hibs 73pts. Hibs 66pts.

Morton 66pts. Morton61pts.

Falkirk 62pts. Falkirk 59pts.

Dun.Utd. 55pts. Dun.Utd. 59pts.

Statistics show we should win the league, but then anyone can use stats to their own advantage.

I took the March option on the basis that we will perform to our ability at Tannadice and get the win that will effectively end the title race.

In terms of points, I'll say the Raith game.

Being on the pesimistic side, I chose the Raith game at ER, though I think we might just clinch it the previous week

So that's the first two options in the poll out of the way....

...and I think we can't win it next week either (we'd be 12 ahead with 12 still to play for, so could theoretically still lose on goal difference) *

So will we clinch the title at home to Raith Rovers?

:hmmm:

* Could somebody check my calculations, cos my brain isn't working well today. Ta ;-)

It'd be good to win it on Saturday but the Rovers game looks more likely.

Next saturday I reckon. St Mirren to do us a favour in midweek at Morton then again at Falkirk next Saturday.

That does rely on us getting a win v QOTS though which isn't something we're used to recently.

No, it's not working well! ;-)

After next week there will be 9 to play for. If we win and Falkirk don't and Morton fail to win on either Wednesday or Saturday, we'll be champions.

It's not a theory I'd like to test but I reckon if we lose all our remaining games we'll still be champions.

If we beat Queen of the South on Saturday we go onto 64 points with a GD of at least 26+.

By Saturday evening:

Falkirk could be on 55 points if they beat an in-form St Mirren at Home leaving them nine points behind with only nine points to play for. They would be around 10 GD worse than us. So for them to pip us they would have to win their last three, we would have to lose our last three and there would need to be a 10 GD swing.
Morton could be on 56 points if they beat an in-form St Mirren at Home on Tuesday and Raith away on Saturday leaving them eight points behind with only nine points to play for. If they fail to win one of those games, they can't catch us.
Dundee United could be on 54 points if they beat an in-form Dunfermline at Home on Tuesday and a fighting for their lives Ayr away on Saturday leaving them ten points behind with only nine points to play for.

Or in simple terms, if Hibs beat Queen of the South along with Morton failing to beat both St Mirren and Raith and Falkirk failing to beat St Mirren the we'll be promoted as Champions.

Look more likely to be Raith game now, but the others keep messing up so outside shot QOS.

My prediction is we will win it without kicking a league ball in anger on Scottish cup semi day
