Phenomenal. 2nd best player on the park tonight (fonts just shaded motm imo)

But his goal was thoroughly deserved and what a finish it was.

I spent time watching him during the game and the way he engages with the younger guys and guides them where to be is exactly what we need. Great pro

Plenty on here have ridiculed him but his game has always been more than goals. Take a bow big man

The best target man performance I've seen since Mixu. He bullied, harrassed and battered the Yam defence into the ground all night until being subbed late on, superb all night. Thought Graham did a decent job when he came on too.

Phenomenal performance by the big guy. That's what centre forwards are supposed to do. He bullied the yams all night, and topped it off with a good goal. Lead the line fantastically, and should have been named MOTM imo.

We are better with him in the team. Spoke well on radio too. I like his attitude that beating Hearts was what they expected to do. He also did a good job at explaining how difficult it is to try and replicate playing like that when teams just come and sit in.

A shame that he seems to be fully aware him and Shinnie are not widely rated.

That's the way to answer critics though, it's a man's game, you can't be exempt from criticism. I've not been his biggest fan and I think Shinnie has been poor considering the expectations I had for him but both played major
part in our win tonight and deserve credit for that. Now they/we need to kick on and beat Dunfermline on Saturday.

That goal AS got tonight is what I want to see from him. He goes by folk with a drop the shoulder so easily and changes direction well but can be prone to picking wrong option. Not tonight though, nice ball for 1st goal and dip of shoulder and strike for second. He should be tearing up the Championship and chipping in with goals as well. Hope he takes confidence from tonight.

Just before half time he was fouled near the half way line just in front of the dugouts. The whistle had gone and fine wel he knew it. He got up and ran 15 yards with the balll and then remonstrated with the ref about advantage thus wasting about a minute if time. Cool head in the heat of battle and thinking of the bigger picture. Constantly talking Jason through Jason's best game for Hibs. I reckon that was big Holts best one too.

23-02-2017, 07:56 AM
The way he took his goal was Riordanesque, a genuine intuitive striker's goal which makes you wonder just why it was his 1st in 4 months. I've been a critic re his lack of goals but not re his attitude & obvious good influence on the dressing room, & the development team. If his personal circumstances allow, I'd be happy to see him here next season.

Brilliant for us.

These intelligent, physically and mentally strong players are hard to find (Mixu, Brewster) but are worth their weight in gold and key to a successful team.

Jason will be learning so much from him too.

Thought Holt was a real leader on the park last night. I agree, man crush territory.

However, it was like role reversal last night. Jason does a brilliant job of the 'target man' holding the ball up whilst Holt does the running.

Great to watch

It's what we've missed for quite a while.
Him and Bartley are not guys you want to play against and are instrumental in us no longer being a pushover.

I do understand the concerns over the lack of goals but given the rest of the guy's game I'm more than happy :)

The big man was fantastic last night. We're a better team when he's playing.

It's like having a coach on the pitch; you can see him talking to Jase throughout the whole game telling him where to stand, where to run etc.

Delighted he got his goal, with a lovely finish too, and that we were finally treated to the sight of The Incredible Holt!

I think Hibs always work best with an under-rated fatty somewhere in the starting line-up.

I love Holt and I'd go as far as to say I think he's currently our most important player.

We look lost when he doesn't play and we look good when he does.

I'm delighted he got a goal because if he can add goals back to his game then there is no reason anyone will have to continue to criticise him.

His post match interview on Hibs TV exudes the confidence and grit we need. "Whether I score one or fifty goals all that matters is I do everything I can to get this club promoted" (or words to that effect). He admits he's not scored enough but in that interview he's shown he has the right mentality. My favourite of Lennon's signings.

He was outstanding - as he was in the first game. He doesn't give them a minute's peace, barged, bullied, nudged, and got in their faces all night. Even off the ball he was at them, he had them concentrating on him rather than the game. He was immense.

Used every single bit of his experience last night. A heroic performance. We are a much better team with him in the side, have said that for a while now.
