Just watched the "highlights" on youtube . To say that pitch is a disgrace is putting it mildly. I picked tatties as a kid in fields with less lumps & furrows.
Bunch of hammerthrowers ....

That is a disgrace for an SPL pitch. No excuse of a bad winter no wonder Neil Lennon picked the team he did. Better surfaces in the championship. It's going to be a right state in a few weeks. My mate stopped going to the pbs as he said Hertz played eye bleeding hoofball due to the poor pitch as much as anything. Think he may have had something. Surely there must be sanctions for that.

Bizarre how bad it was cant remember it looking that bad against Bonnyrigg. Especially bad given they had a winter break. Should be fined or forced to relay a new one now.

They don't spend much time with it given it's gone completely soon due to the building work. That's the last time we have to play on that tip and the last time in front of the atmospheric death trap of a main stand.

There's no real logical reason as to why that pitch is so bad. We've had a mild winter, next to no snow, doesn't seem like we've had much rain and they had a winter break where the pitch got a rest for a month. How does it end up being every bit as bad as a pitch at the Jack Kane which gets played on 4 times a weekend, every weekend and has quadbikes ripping through it the rest of the week?

They seem to have a problem with that pitch every other year. Can only think it's a downside to having stands so close to the pitch and it not getting much sun.probably be even worse once the megastand goes up.

It was bad against Bonnyrigg - just not as bad as it is now. It had loads of scarring and missing turf. It's totally done now though.

It is in a worse state than my local rugby club pitches. Set up for hoofball.

I suspect that the grubby fingerprints of Craig Levein are all over the ploughed field at Tynecastle.

Disgrace of a pitch. I've seen sunday pub league pitches in better nick. Set up perfectly for hearts and their hoofball style play.

Wonder if their game this saturday will go ahead can see the same scenario as last season when it was the only game on the planet off that day.

An appalling pitch and we should complain to the authorities.

If Hearts give us a walkover, however, I'm prepared to forgive them.

Jambo was telling me they only have 1 groundsman as Vlad sacked 3 or 4 of them during his reign. Current one has pleaded with Ann Fudge to bring in support but this has been rejected

Nope. It was a deliberate ploy by us to stop Hearts playing their passing game - Neil McCann

The authorities shouldn't need a complaint to their age action. Does absolutely nothing for the image of Scottish football.

If they are that bad on a heavy pitch we should get the water on ours before the tie, and play all the big guys again. Wonder if PH will be back, he won't want to miss this one.

Yeh but on the other hand, the Scottish Farmers Co-Operative were delighted with all the free publicity they got!

Their quiet, brown and pink stadium with their T in the Park field tribute pitch is actually hilarious in comparison to the magnificence that is Easter Road Stadium.

That pitch would embarrass most junior clubs.

Then you get complete dingles talking s**** saying what a great place Tynecastle is to play football.

Why are they spending on 9 players when their pitch is as unplayable as the heavy rough at St Andrews?

There's an article on BBC news about a council planting trees on a football pitch; turns out it's in Aberdeen. I thought I'd solved the problem. 😉

'the pitch was a leveller' seems to be the go to quote for jambos clutching at straws. They seem to be conveniently forgetting their delusions of how good they are is based on two results, on which took place on that same pitch.

Its a disgrace that one of scotlands suposed top clubs has a surface like that. The sfa should be fining them

I actually wondered if it's something to do with the undersoil heating, but when you look closer, it's almost as if the grass hasn't been cut for a while. not that there's actually that much of it on that slag heap.
