Recall the shenanigans last year cause of CL games. I'm going to be in London so won't make it.

Doubt it, CL games are on that week.

No chance. Wasn't last year because of CL.

It's pathetic that a Scottish Cup competition can't be shown because of it.

Will be streaming it to periscope 👍🏼

There is no cup top this year so might be a couple of hundred extra tickets for general sale

Makes no sense. Are Arsenal (or whoever) fans going to watch our match instead? Hate UEFA.

I'll take it not being on the box if the result is the same...or better...than last time :flag:

Seem to recall that it was audio only even for subscribers from outside the UK/Ireland that night last year. Or am I talking guff?

Why does that rule apply to us but not to English clubs?

Did they just take the fine on the chin?

They can afford to take the fine on the chin.

Maybe we can as well. Sure I heard somewhere (though can't remember where) that a cup replay is a moneyspinner.

Wasn't last year. That meant it more or less sold out. No CTU this year might be a factor but probably means more tickets on sale to public which will surely sell. :agree:

Last year there were only around 8,500 season ticket holders, so we had around 7,500 for public sale. This year we have over 11,000, so suggest non season ticket holders get in early

Nope, Hibs aren't even allowed to stream the game to their own fans.... as it "may impact champions league viewing figures" :brickwall

Embarrassing for hearts today. Out played, out sung and out thought in terms of tactics.

Was hoping the replay would be on Hibs tv but it won't be because of the CL. I don't understand why they couldn't have played it on a Monday or even a Friday...

It's a rubbish rule but all the clubs/associations are well aware of it.

Why is this not viewed as a restriction on trade and EU all over it...?

Dinning from the same trough...

Why did the SFA schedule it for that week, it's doing Scottish clubs out of extra money, which they all need

pretty sure one club televised their cup game last year and took the chance of a fine.

If you live in or around Edinburgh and are on the database you'll get a ticket if you want one.

Wasn't last year.

I'm trying to remember - didn't they stop streaming all games at one point last year? Then they allowed viewing for people who were overseas subscribers - as opposed to ordinary subscribers with an overseas IP address I mean.

Not that it would help punters in the UK of course.

The strange thing is that the English Clubs and Sky/BT totally ignore this rule and televise cup replays anyway.

It is not strange, the FA are not bothered about the solidarity payment that UEFA pay. The Scottish FA are and won't alllow Sky or BBC to televise Scottish Cup games on a UEFA night as they don't want to jepordise the payment.

The champions league runs over the next 4 weeks so no other week would have been any different, and I presume Europa league goes by the same rules so no chance of moving it to the Thursday.

Why not this midweek though?

Probably to give the clubs time to put everything in place e.g. Sell ticks, policing, stewarding etc

There is Champs league this week and next so no way they could avoid clashing.

This tv clashing with Champs league games is a shambles and needs sorted out. SFA will probs just sit back and say nothing though.

As has been pointed out, no telly coverage = more fans at Easter Road.

I'm sure someone will have it on Periscope.

Why not just pay the fine with the money SKY pay to show the game?

Why not just pay the fine with the money SKY pay to show the game?

Because the fine will likely be much more than the 80K or so we would get from Sky. There would probably be a fine to the football authorities as well.

I counted three of four EUFA blackouts where we were denied live video of games due to Champions League. Clubs should just stream the games anyway and call EUFA's bluff to see if they are going to enforce their monopoly of live broadcasting.

Last year I stopped watching Champions League, which had become fairly boring anyway. I also noted who the commercial sponsors were and stopped buying their products.

One EUFA blackout and I will do the same this year.

Calm down mate. I'm in the same boat as well, I live in the South West of England so would love to watch the game on telly.

Just giving you a potential solution.

It's a crap state of affairs, unfortunately it ain't changing soon.

Merely pointing out that us out of towners loss may well be Hibs gain in ticket sales and atmosphere.

Is it only cup and top league matches that can't be shown as I remember Alba showing a game either earlier this season or last season. Can't remember if it was a championship match or a challenge cup game.

The strange thing is that the English Clubs and Sky/BT totally ignore this rule and televise cup replays anyway.

The rule doesn't apply when it's a replay.

They can show the match if they want, pretty sure Liverpool played a rearranged cup game that was televised the same night as a champs league game was on.
