Was just watching a clip on sky sports for the built up for Sunday's game, it was saying if Jason scores on Sunday it would be 5 consecutive games in a derby for the first time since the 1940s, does anyone know who's record he's equalling?

Is this a Hibs stat, or includes Hearts?

Jonnyboy is your man. Probably only one on here from around then

Think it was an overall derby stat so would be between Hibs & Hearts

Surely the fat ******** Robertson scored I 5 in a row. He seemed to score every time we played them in the early 90's.

That's my scarred childhood memory anyway!!

I can only imagine it would be a German soldier putting a dent in the Hearts rearguard back in the 1940s.

Robertson has only scored in 3 in a row, but he did manage it 3 times.

The last player to score in five consecutive derbies was Tommy Walker in 1942. The only other player to do it was Jock White in 1924. No Hibs player has ever scored in five in a row.

Robertson's record v Hibs was 27 goals in 55 appearances which I've always thought is a wee bit over-rated. He probably averaged a goal every 2 games for his overall career at Hearts so it's really what you'd expect. It's not like we were a team he ALWAYS scored against.

It's still a pretty good record though

It bloody felt like it though.

I think the impressive (!?!?!?!?!?!) thing about Robertson was that he rarely scored a meaningless goal. I do remember him curling in a beautiful free kick when we beat them 2-1 a few weeks before we were relegated but he had a knack of getting winners and equalisers in tight games, thus changing games. He must have denied us more points than any other player over the years, and being in derbies that hurt a heck of a lot.

For that reason I'll always have respect for him as a player. And the fact that he has never really felt the need to be a dick about it means that I'll respect him as a guy, way ahead of the likes of Skacel.

Robbo had a better record of recovering from a career threatening injury in the lead up to each and every derby

Fat boy never scored a hatrick for the ****bos in his career.

Tommy Walker in 1941 and Jimmy Wardhaugh in 1956, both for the Puddledrinkers.

If ever you had any doubts they weren't obsessed with us, the London Hearts Supporters club section on Hibs has to be seen, to be believed!

A wee extra incentive for JC to get one then.

As long as it's the winner, that's the most important stat

He did. He didn't score one in the top flight but he scored 3 in the old first division and 1 in the Scottish cup I believe.

It is, but the painful truth is that Hibs were a very poor side for the majority of the years Robbo played against us. For him to be just under a goal every 2 games against us is good but hardly spectacular.

And set the tone for the yams to this day.. Jason is turning into a bit of a bogeyman for them & long may it continue.

Agree. Jasons the hammer of the Yams. His goals against them speak for themselves. One thing I ain't going to do either is detract from what a great wee finisher and big game chance taker the hibby John Robertson was.

Did I mention we got him for nothing as a result of the yam throwing out the family silver when they had to stop paying everybody?

Tommy walker was my grans cousin. Not sure I should be shouting about that on here but at least part of his line has gone green :-)

We need to convert the Stokes's on fire song to JC's on fire. It's a great song being wasted at the moment.

That 5th goal has to come from a penalty chipped over their keeper.

Lennon might not deem him worthy of a starting slot again.
