I'd say the fact he was raised in Glasgow is more relevant to how he behaves than where he was born.

Result for the Elvis impersonator, £200,000 damages, that's f***ing mental.

Former Celtic striker Anthony Stokes ordered to pay Elvis impersonator £200,000 after headbutt attack
The Irishman left 53-year-old Anthony Bradley with a broken nose and two broken teeth and was told to stump up the cash at the High Court in Dublin

Guy was off his work (car park attendant) for 8 months apparently and suffered physcological damage. Also now has underlying back and shoulder problems. Make of that what you will.

I got £1300 from the court in compensation for a car accident. Wee bit of whiplash.

Good point - I'm sure, just like every group in society, most footballers would be good role models - and they have all got to where they are through hard work and a strict work ethic, which is all commendable.

But I still don't think they should be placed on a pedestal.

Generally I agree with you.

It's difficult to stop people having warm feeling for stokes, but as an adult i won't go and hit someone in a bar cause he did.
He is a hero of mines. Due to his antics on the field last May.

For children that may difficult to divorce, I don't know, I'd hope not, but I suspect so.

Pretty sure we have all done stupid things in the past and while not condoning violence by any means (even to an Elvis impersonator) the interesting thing about all this is the fact that he was done under European law, which means a crime case for the first amount and then the civil case for damages, very common in Europe.
You assault someone and you are going to have to pay damages.
The Stokes/Gray Final will never tarnish or fade, and Fitba players are just guys who have a gift and are lucky enough to be getting paid for playing the game.

I used him as an example of a guy that had nothing and worked tirelessly to get to where he is.

He is/could be a role model due to his work ethic and almost impeccable behaviour off the pitch.

An extremely generous character that has helped many charities out over time.

I agree he would eat himself if he could.
I have met Stokes and he seems pretty similar in that regard.
