Ahhh, it's the latest 'buzz-phrase'
However, fake news has been with us for years. Used by governments to divert attention when truth might cause concern.
e.g In the case of Britain, the clever misinformation issued during the build up to the D-Day operations (and indeed, every time Britain has been deemed under threat since).

There's a difference, though, between national security concerns, and downright lies. The latter is what the current debate is about.

I agree, CWG. That was kinda meant to be my point.
It is obviously justified (and imperative) in terms of National Security however, the practice has bled into all other aspects of life in general.
