I was wondering what everyone would think about the club having a navy blue away shirt? I was thinking we used to have blue training tops back in the day and maybe that colour would be a change from the mainly white and blacks that we usually get. I mean we did have a red goalie strip!!!

No ta.
Despite the fact that we've had many varied colours on away kits and training gear - blue simply isn't a Hibernian colour as far as I'm concerned.

I had a navy Hibs T shirt around about 1998, it was sold in the club shop and was designed like a Scotland top with a white V neck and an embroidered 'Hibernian'instead of a crest. It looked cool for leisure wear, not sure it would go down too well with the traditionalists as an official away strip.

The brighter the better during these dark, murky winters afternoons. Blue, especially, dark, would be almost akin to wearing an invisibility suit.
Vivid yellow, if anything, for an away kit

The purple strips we've had have been my favourite away kits followed by white. I can't ever imagine Hibs playing in blue.

Not for me. I view our colours as Green, White, Yellow(gold) and purple. There is plenty that can be done with that and no need to introduce any more.

Will we play in our away strip against hearts? Or home strip?

We've worn the change strip more often than the home one over the last few months. Could go either way.

Good question - I think Lennon has had us in yellow every single away game this year but for tradition sakes against the shameless ones, it's got to be green. Saying that we did play in our away white shirt against the manky mob a few years ago.

And no - no navy blue away top - not Hibs.

Home kit from last year and away kit from last year should have been hibernian kits from now until eternity. Not only were they incredible they were the cup kits.

I've come to quite like the high visibility yellow away strip - especially on a dismal day like today. Remember the all black away strip from not so many years ago? That one may have been smart but in practical terms it should have been a non starter.

My favourite away strip ever was the mid 80s white away kit, sure it came with green shorts, and was made by Umbro. A thing of beauty and I'd pay anything (the Mrs would let me....) to get my hands on one now.

Anyone also remember the yellow away kit we had as a 3rd strip, late 70s, early 80s? Think it had something to do with the home top having sponsors on it and the tv companies at the time had issues with it?

The late seventies of home and away which were the Bukta green and white home and purple and white away are personal favorites. I had one of the thick navy t-shirts with the badge in the middle of the chest in the late nineties which was on sale from the club shop and I liked it. Not sure about a navy away strip but as long as it's not like that utter monstrosity the Yams have of pink and yellow which is an eyesore I suppose I'm relaxed about it but can totally understand folk wanting to retain a more traditional white or yellow.

No problem with a navy blue away shirt

We've had a couple of red goalie tops..... why not have this as an away shirt

Keep the home top traditional - the away is for experimentation

I still wear to the gym my old navy blue le Coq Sportif t-shirt and training top. Both are smart as and wish something similar would return. Got one of the fluorescent yellow tops in 2015 but still prefer the navy, which is also preferable to black. It's the badge that matters after all and I take great pride in parading it through a sports centre where most of the patrons have an allegiance to one of the Ugly Sisters.

Whatever colour, I'd like the club's next strip supplier to do a training top with the club crest sublimated into it, the way many rugby clubs have. Our stuff seems old hat in comparison.

For a 2nd strip, I'd like the old Ajax top except sub green for the red.

18000I quite like your thoughts on this, however the best away colour we had imho was the yellow top with Carlsberg on the front. felt good, and felt so good when I wore it at ER for the 6-2 game:greengrin the pub barmaid rushed out with a Guinness top for me to wear as technically they don't allow fitba colours in our local. I settled with a nice green Guinness one for the rest of the evening:wink:

NAW ! Blue/Navy should be nowhere near Hibs playing kit. White, purple or canary yellow at a push for away top only.

Already pinched by the Yams for their first team strip back in the 70s I think it was.

Blue or navy should be nowhere near a Hibs strip.

My preference for away colours is purple, white and yellow, in that order.

The bright yellow away one is starting to grow on me as well.

White, purple and yellow or a combination possibly including green to choose from for our away kits. Nothing against navy blue for a keepers top though.

Personally I wouldn't mind a bit of navy blue on one of our kits.

For those unaware we actually worse navy blue shorts for a couple of years in our early days

In the 19th Century Hibs had a tradition of wearing blue shorts in cup finals. Weirdly we also wore blue shorts in an anglo/scottish cup tie in the 70's.

Think the idea was that the green represented Ireland and the blue was there for Scotland
