Would agree with you to a certain extent.
My dad is soon to be 80 & that would not be fair on him to queue for hours.
That's why loyalty points should never been scrapped.
He has not missed a game home & away for years.
I agree on the loyalty points.
Your dad deserves a ticket.

Online is fine when there are loads of tickets and will suit me as it will any season ticket holder. I can get online at 10am to try and get a ticket.
Would I get myself down to Easter Road at 6am to guarantee a ticket for this game? Probably not.
Accordingly if other folk are willing to put that effort in they deserve to get a ticket before me.
So you want fans to queue up on a winters morning, for potentially 4/5 hours. Also say you live 2/3 hours from Edinburgh, you'll have to take a days holiday
Hope the weather's ok for the queuing fans

Would like to have seen us sell the tickets in person only for this one.
Would be done and dusted very quickly and those who simply must attend would be guaranteed a ticket by queuing from the wee small hours.
Besides queuing for maybe five or six hours before the ticket office opened, how long do you think it would take for about 3,000 people to be served by half a dozen staff? All day I reckon. :agree: The only guarantee is that it will be freezing and probably raining cats and dogs. I'll take my chance on T'internet. Never failed before and don't expect to this time around. Nice warm lounge, bowl of porage, cup of tea and four devices ready for logging in at the normal 10am. Should be done and dusted within ten or fifteen minutes.

Those who want tickets will get tickets. Really don't think a lot of people will miss out. I understand what you're saying but should demand exceed supply then unfortunately it doesn't work on a deserving basis.

I don't think it will be as over subscribed as some are suggesting. I'll be surprised if I miss out - have never failed to get tickets for any Hibs away game. The keenest will be online early or queuing up, and it won't be surprise to read of folk buying tickets effortlessly mid afternoon!

No chance IMO. Be sold out in a couple hours and personally I'm taking zero chances with that shan ticketing site and ending up missing out. Day off, ticket office for 6am then straight hame and back in my scratcher.

I can't see how Ticketmaster can control the volume of traffic by making it 12.00 as opposed to 10.00.
It also means that folk who were planning on queuing from say 6am are now going to have to queue another 2 hrs longer.

Presumably ticketmaster have advised they expect less traffic at 12 than 10 due to sales for other events?

We have 12000 season ticket holders and only 3400 tickets up for grabs . Take off the 200 away season holders and I'd say quite a lot of people will be disappointed. Imo the loyalty points system should never have been binned .

I'm only repeating what Hibs have said. There's only one person to blame for fans having to queue for hours, and that's Leanne for scrapping the loyalty scheme

Perhaps not, but it did favour those that had weekends free all the time. There will never be a perfect system, unfortunately. Those online or in the queue at 12 won't miss out...fingers crossed anyway as that will include me!

Exactly :top marksThe hardcore support that goes to every away game should be guaranteed a ticket for a game like this whichever method they choose to use to sell tickets. It'll be a total sin if any regular away supporter misses out because they cant queue or get online

yes you can control traffic. they can provide more bandwidth at that time for Hibs tickets... maybe by taking a wee bit off Ed Sheeren. :greengrin

It's not really. There is no way the club can keep everyone happy. They have tried to make it as easy as possible by announcing things as quickly as they could. Everybody has different circumstances and it's just not possible to cater to every individual's needs unfortunately.

Why would I want a day off to go down and physically que? You ever actually used the ticketing site when there's been a huge demand?
Also, I don't work at a desk or sit on my arse all day so sitting on a computer or with the iPad etc is out of the question.

I queued for 3 hours for Bonnyrigg tickets. Was a good laugh but I won't be doing that again. I'm sure the online process will be much slicker this time. Enjoy the queue though if that's your bag.

I've lost count of the number of times I have read that on here over the last 2 or 3 years. Never happens though and it'll result in an unusually high number of people queuing tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be able to as it's a 12pm start so I'd need a full day off work.

Suits me that they go on sale at noon as I would have probably missed out if it had been 10am. At least I have a chance and will adopt the 3 laptop and 1 tablet approach for the client numbers I have. Very late notice for those wanting to book a day off and although noon suits me not great for those who were going to queue out. The situation would have been so much easier with loyalty points. Mind you it wasn't very well handled for last year's similar fixture.

Fingers crossed. I don't really understand why they've moved it to 12pm but maybe that'll make things run smoother online. You're right of course, there's no guarantee queuing up at the ticket office will get you a ticket, but it's certainly less frustrating than the experiences I've had online.

Tbf he was sound enough when I asked for Thursday off last Friday, I'd asked for the Thursday as 9 times out of ten we seem to sell tickets for big games on the Thursday. I should hopefully be alright to swap it for tomorrow but it's a bit ****ty of me swapping shifts with less than 24 hours notice. Sure it'll no be just me in the same boat though.

Phone up? Although online has never been an issue for me, on the phone is not an option. You spend an absolute fortune attempting to get through on an 0844 number, to get cut off after 1 minute as all lines are busy.
They'll have pushed sales forward to tomorrow as Ed Sheeran tickets go on sale on Thursday and Ticketmaster will not want to bear the brunt of Hibs' frustrations again. However, having a go at those who need more than 24 hours notice to get time off to try and get tickets shows your clearly out of touch with someone who doesn't sit on their backside at a desk all day.

Mine just wired up a few roller shade motors and one of them only works when an exterior light is switched on. Not what I expect for 80 bucks an hour on a geological timescale.

What was the problem last year Wookie, ticketmaster or Hibs problems From memory, the points chosen for the second tranche opened it up to all season ticket holders. A loyalty system could be used to limit potential buyers far better than we chose to.
