Mines much more mundane.
2 nil away to st mirren in the 1st division 98/99.
We had got beat 2 nil in the same fixture earlier in the season (mixus debut). While leaving the ground with my dad we were talking about years in this division (ahem..)
So it was some pretty sweet redemption to win that one. Finally made me certain we were going up.
Also that really steep away stand they hand was pretty cool.

I'll nominate a less obvious one - Airdrie in the playoffs (late 90s).

Having scraped a 1-0 win at home (think it was an OG), there was a real feeling of relief as we won 4-2 at Broadwood against the dirtiest team of ex-Jambo hackers you could imagine.

Parked in a nearby housing scheme and had to jump a burn to get there.

3-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish cup for me. Huge Hibs support going absolutely berserk!

This game was incredible because I don't think I've heard noise like it. The whole of one end going completely mental as all the goals were scored in front of us, plus the walk back to my car with all the Huns (those that were left) looking daggers at me with a couple of 'don't get too close mate' moments.

We were on fire that day and I still have saved the piece someone put together of the goals with the Queen 'Don't Stop Me Now' soundtrack.

The Pointer
26-01-2017, 11:15 AM
....but then I'd forgotten about 1/1/73.

I remember the long, hungover walk from Buckstone down to Tynecastle, being in the terracing opposite the stand and at one point knocking off a policeman's hat in the melee after we'd scored, only to be told, "It's all right son, I'm a Hibby!".

Millennium derby for obvious reasons.

Also, in retrospect I hasten to add, I quite enjoyed the 4-4 disaster at Tynecastle, I think I experienced every emotion I'm capable of feeling during and after that match, I vaguely remember going home in a complete daze genuinely thinking I was asleep and would wake up at any moment.

Mines was the 0-3 against Rangers at IBrox in the Scottish Cup. Deek had said no I don't think so the day before to the huns.

I was studying and living in Glasgow at the time. Went to the game with a Celtic fan from Stornoway who sang every hibs song. Great Hibs support and all the goals scored in front of it. Great day and night out after was walking down Sauchiehill street with my hibs strip on around midnight pished. Bumped into rangers fans and to their credit they shook my hand but we're a bit in disbelief I was walking about like that on my own. Missed the 0-7 game for some unknown reason so will have to go for the 2-2 draw in the SC at Tynecastle last year. What followed during the next few months was incredible.

A close second was going through to Ibrox in October 1969 and beating Rangers (whatever happened to them?) 3-1. Ended up in a stand full of Huns while all the Hibs fans were in the opposite end of the ground. Didn't stop me celebrating all three goals despite the attention I was drawing to myself. I dare say if I had been a bit older than thirteen then I probably would have got beaten up. Goals from Joe McBride and Peter Marinello x 2 made it a thoroughly enjoyable match and journey back home. Unfortunately Marinello left for Arsenal a couple of months later.

Agree this was up there. Relief and celebration.
But for me League Cup semi against Rangers at Hampden winning on penalties. 7000 hardcore going mental and my favourite atmosphere although small on number. We were underdogs and written off.

This for me aswell. Never been in a crowd like it since. Imagine we held onto that team.

3-0 ibrox, Ivan Sproule. Daughter's first game there and we had the Glasgow branch player of the year do that night. We had written the game off as a maybe get a result but it won't spoil our night if we don't sort of thing. Thanks Ivan sorted that out for us.

Though I was at the 3 - 0 cup pumping of the old Rangers at Ibrox my favourite remains the friendly away to Bolton, had a great day and some of their fans reaction to our rendition of 'Fk the queen' was hilarious :greengrin

If you count Hampden as away then apart from the obvious game the 2004 League cup semi wins it .... 7000 Hibs fans outsinging 20 odd thousand knuckle draggers from beginning to end and the way we won through was just brilliant.

He scored with 2 free kicks that night IIRC. I was also there.
2-0 down with 10 minutes to go ! Ring any bells ?

The Dean Sheils 2-1 game at Tynie was special as we came back from 1-0 down and it was a pivotal game in the chase for Europe if I remember correctly.

Beating Rangers 3-0 in the Scottish when we had behind the goals, what an atmosphere.

Again beating Rangers on penalties in the LC semi. There were 6/7000 thousand Hibs fans there yet i havent met a Hibs fan who says they werent there :greengrin my lasting memory is my mate realising he'd lost his ticket so I volunteered to help him buy a new one......which were for sale at the other end of the ground.....at a pod outside Rangers end. We moved quickly with our scarves in our pockets thats for sure haha.

But the millenium derby 3-0 is my favourite. It was 3-0 but we really did batter them. Wee Russell was magnificent that night and did evertything bar score.

We were talking about that game the other day and when Airdrie went 1 up I thought we were going down. Did they not miss a penalty soon after ? One of my fav games for sure.

So many memories it's impossible to single out 1 game but I'd go with that 1 for the sheer emotion of the night.

Yeah they sure did. Im sure we left on buses laid on by the club from ER that night although my memory might be playing tricks on me.

3-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish cup for me. Huge Hibs support going absolutely berserk!

PBS when Archibald "skinned" McPherson and slotted it past Smith..my friend lost a shoe and I got my jacket ripped in the celebrations that ensued.
