John's older brother has just been released by Wycome. We probably don't need another midfielder, but would he be worth a punt?

Signing for St Mirren, apparently.

I couldn't see him getting a game in our midfield to be honest.

That's Paul. He's at Chesterfield (I think?)

Honestly couldn't see him getting a game with Hibs given the current crop of midfielders. He couldn't force his way into ours and that's a League 2 side - skilful little player but didn't seem to want to put a tackle in ever. He did score one peach of a goal against Exeter last season but that was pretty much it.
Might be lower Championship level but I doubt he'd make it any higher than that now so wouldn't be a long-term option at ER.

When he was first at St Mirren he looked class but if he wasn't good enough for a rotten Dundee then he is definitely not good enough for us. Would have liked to have signed Paul McGinn though.

I'd take Ringo McGinn in a heartbeat.
