In an interview after signing for them he says he thought Hibs had a good set up but wanted to sign for a big club. :rolleyes: Said he didn't want to malign Hibs but went on to do just that. Said that Hibs couldn't fill their stadium against them. The interview smacked of being Jambo scripted.

Exactly. When hibs and other clubs sign a player, the player will usually give it "this is a great club, I really like the stadium/training facilities etc, looking forward to playing in this team etc". Whereas hearts players immediately have a dig at hibs as they know thats an instant winner with the hearts support. Weird club with an unhealthy obsession. I don't recall a single time the likes of Skacel has given an interview where he has hasn't felt the urge to bring up hibs in some way.


EDIT : Just seen that this article is likely a fake. Not sure what is sadder though tbh, him actually coming out with such guff to sook up to the hearts fans or that fact some wee obsessed yam has actually gone to all the effort of making a fake news story! Tragic bunch.

Yes, under previous regimes Hearts have signed players and refused to pay anything. Under Mercer the signed Willie Pettigrew and (someon else) and didn't pay a dime for them.

The writer could also have said that Tynecastle's only full when Hibs are playing there, irrespective of whether Hearts are too.

I don't find that credible. Bikey took a short-term amateur contract with the Binos to give himself an opportunity to make a name here and he succeeded in that. If he can't get professional terms I reckon he'd go back to part-time football in France.

Heard that this morning too. Also heard that neither Cathro nor McPhee wanted him and it was Levein's decison to sign him. He was on the bench on Sunday as this was agreed when he signed but he's unlikely to feature for them
