The ex Dundee Utd player David Robertson the co accused of David Goodwillie for the rape of a 30 year old woman has announced his retirement from football.

It happened when they were at United. Accused January 2011 and both left the following summer

Yeah, i don't suppose many of them see themselves as rapists.
That is other than if they are predator guys who hide and drag women into bushes etc.

That phrase can cover a multitude of scenarios. My view is that it's specifically used so as to spare the departing further embarassment.
